You could definitely tell that this book wasnt written within the last couple of years or so. Some of the more recent stuff felt really outdated, and some of the stuff seemed like the author blatantly just added their opinion to what is supposed to be a relatively scholarly work.

(Which turned out not to be too bad in the long run since several of the questions on the actual test seemed subjective to me as well. Maybe I'm the crazy one, and what I thought was subjective is in fact common knowledge....)

Other than those two thngs, I feel like it was well written, engaging, easy to follow, and really entertaining for the most part, especially coming from a big survey course educational textbook on world history no less.

Wouldn't recommend it if you needed to go really in depth into a specific time period or area; but for people who need a quick refresher or just want to get the gist of things I would fully recommend both World History books from this series
