On my fourteenth birthday, I was promised to a very wealthy man... A domineering man. A powerful man. On that day, the first of two transactions were made with my very unloving parents.

I became his possession.
Something to own.
Something to keep.
An object intended only for his desire, his pleasure, and his ... indulgence.

Although promised to this man, I at least remained sa

Dayum, what a ride! 'Possession' is dark, intriguing and kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time. A depraved dark erotica from beginning until the end, Jamie Roberts’s newest release is gripping, captivating, magnetic, violent and brutal and contains graphic scenes with sexual assault content, so please proceed with caution. If you are not a fan of dark stories, this is not the book for you. An incredibly written tale of love and possession, this story is told in such a way you w

Wow! Jaimie Roberts never ceases to blow me away with the completely f*cked-up stories that come out of her twisted mind. If you've followed my reviews for long, you know that dark, disturbing stories are my favorite kind. I just love a story that pushes my boundaries and makes me tremble with equal parts fear and anticipation. This is exactly that kind of story.

I obviously did not read the same book as everyone else.

Because everyone else's book was 4+ stars.

But my book?
This book?

Was sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, all over the fucking place SLOPPY.

The time jumps made no sense.
I felt like I was playing drunken hopscotch on a rocky hill.

Evelyn was a little punk bitch and I wanted Drake to drop kick her ass.

And Drake's supposedly "dark" backstory?

Well, it was just lame.

Sorry, but I've read it in at least three other books before.

⭐⭐⭐⭐! Possession (stand-alone). How Evelyn finds herself possessed by much older businessman Drake!

“For years, I have hated, lusted, and loved that man with a passion so fierce that it burned me from the inside out. I loathed his possessiveness and the power he held over me for so long that all I could think about was an escape.”

I will try to write a better review when I catch up…

He is my only prayer. He is my only hope.

I found the story to be well written and I loved the author's writing style, it kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation for what’s next. Although I didn’t love the characters – at first, I enjoyed the story and found myself loving them by the end of the book.

what I really wanted and didn’t get was his POV. Drake came off as a major bully. He’s a selfish cold, harsh asshole. Who took everything he ever wanted, and didn't give two shits about what

I enjoyed this book for what it was, by that I mean it was simple.

But because I enjoyed it and her books are free on Kindle Unlimited, I will was utilize her books as fillers – you know those book you read in between really good, soul aching books.

The story line was cute but I NEVER felt a connection with the main characters, I NEVER felt invested in their lives. It was like hearing gossip at the beauty or barb

I've read and loved every single book I've had the pleasure of reading by this author who fast became one of my favourites.

You need to heed the authors Warning: Contains graphic scenes with sexual assault content. Please proceed with caution.

Overall Opinion: I felt like this had potential for being a good captivity type story, but sadly just didn't get there. I enjoyed it at times, while other times I just had troubles believing some of the stuff that went on. (view spoiler)

Evelyn Montgomery might live a comfortable life physically, but emotionally she felt neglected. At twelve years old, she met a man who gave her the attention she needed. He was her savior in more than one way. That was until he became the monster to her living nightmare.

This is my third book by this author and she doesn't disappoint. Dark erotica with some real hair raising triggers, disturbing, not for the feint of heart!!!

Drake is a bastard, through and through. I'd like to say he has redeeming qualities, but nope, nuh-uh, he has none! He certainly isn't deserving of Evelyn. She's far to innocent to fit into his world. But eh what's free will when you've never had it?

Is having free will like owning trinkets? A rare commodity that can be shelved and later ta

Drake Salvatore had his eyes on little Evelyn since she was 12. And it was all well set up for him to warm up to her into the illusion of a protector and benefactor, only so she was sold to him at the age of 18 for him to claim...

That's not the only dark fact of life for Evelyn, she s about to experience a whole another level of dark and twisted...

and yet she won't realize that her life was in a twisted way sheltered until she finds herself at the hands of a rea

"Sometimes, life isn’t about fairytales and finding that perfect someone. There’s no such thing as perfect. We all have our flaws."

This book is the first book by Jaimie Roberts I’ve ever read but definitely it’s not the last. This one is a Dark book that I adore. Everything was perfect and I really enjoyed it and loved it.

I've been struggling with this book for ten days and now I'm calling it. I quit. The back and forth in time is really frustrating and only ruins my enjoyment of this story. Also Evelyn and Drake are two characters that does nothing for me. They give me whiplash with their emotions. I expected something more from this story. I like it dark. Very dark indeed and Possession was alright in that department. It was just the construction of the story and its characters that didn't work for me.

My first read from Jaimie Roberts and I was shocked. I didn't imagine to be this dark and gritty. I usually enjoy this kind of genre, but POSSESSION left me confused. However, the ending really saved me with the unpredictable turn out of events.

Evelyn Montgomery "promised" to Drake Salvatore by her parents when she was fourteen. In the eyes of twelve years old's Evelyn, Drake is everything. He saved Evelyn. She adore him so much and dream to be with him. But something chang

Isn't that swell. POTENTIAL SPOILERS

How many books did I just read? There was the taboo teenager/adult love story in the beginning. All above board. It was sweet, alpha, protective. Loved it. Then we moved to dominant, S&M plus r ape, I still don't know why he had to r ape her. What happened to him? He turned into a violent, nasty, r aping a hole. Then we went dark, held captive, more r ape. Next Mr responsible and romantic popped up and to finish a happy families HEA. Ain't life grand.

I was very disappointed with this book. It really was all over the place. I have also read some very good anti- hero books in the past that the author did a great job in making you feel some empathy for him... in this book the anti- hero was hard to like in my opinion. Also I couldn't get over the fact he was sexually attracted to the heroine when she was twelve. He may not have acted on it but he was still thinking about her sexually as a child...
I won't start bashing the book but will just sa

Possession was painfully difficult for me to finish. I've read and enjoyed other books by Jaimie Roberts, but this one wasn't for me. It just... didn't work.

I couldn't connect to the story or the characters. I found Evelyn extremely annoying and Drake was pretty bland even though he had a secret. The side characters were also uninteresting.

Even though my experience wasn't a positive one, this won't stop me from reading other books by Jaimie Roberts.

Evelyn Montgomery grew up in household where shady deals were transacted, however, she didn’t expect for her family to view her as an asset rather than as a daughter. At twelve years old, she met a man that gave her hope and a sense of friendship. As she got older, Evelyn began to realize this man was more than a friend that would stop at nothing to protect her, or at least so she thought.

This was traumatizing and amazing all at once.
This is the story of Evelyn and Drake.
Evelyn, who at 12 meets Drake and finds her protector.
At 14 proposes to him.
At 16 defies him.
And at 18 becomes his wife.
Drake, who's been insanely obsessed with Evelyn since he saw her. He waits for her to become legal, then he possesses her.
This isn't for the faint of heart. It's not as dark as some romances out there, but its still pretty gruesome.

Recommends it for: Only people who can handle this kind of content. Definitely not for everybody.

Looking through the reviews on here, I'm definitely the odd man out on this baby. I loved every second of it. Drake was so possessive and controlling, and even when he became too OTT (view spoiler), I still loved him. He was freaking hot as hell. And I enjoyed living vicariously through Evelyn's eyes. I adored her trying to push back against Drake's overbearing control, and I LOVED witnessing Evelyn succumbing to her desire and attraction to Drake. I'm

How can this be romantic for many readers? Hero rapes the heroine and then he blames her for doing it. He brainwashed her into thinking her rape was her fault.
Can someone explain to me how can this be romantic?
Drake is a dangerous man that everyone respects and fears. At some point Evelyn is presented to him as a teenager, and becomes his. Even bad guys follow codes, which puts her on the "don't touch" shelf until her 18th birthday. This gets very dark, so go in expecting triggers.

The Good:
1. Drake has a soft spot for Evelyn that doesn't extend to anyone else. I love that in my anti-heroes.

2. In the beginning she sees him as her protector, and there was a sweetness which kept the age factor from getti
Alpha Possessive Heroes
I loved the premise of the story, I'm all into older hero/younger heroine kinda theme. This one though confused the crap out of me, one minute the hero is so sweet, hot and just your ideal kind of OTT alpha male.. but man he did a 360 so quick I got a whiplash! Around 60ish % of the book I feel like I'm reading a totally different story! The whole thing changed I felt like I was getting prank! And don't get me started with the heroine, she was annoying in the first part of the book. Very immatur ...more

Go find your sugar and make yourself some lemonade.

This book was FILLED with triggers. The hero/anti-hero and OM do terrible things to the heroine, and feel very little to no remorse. If you like captive romance, iffy consent, and more possession/infatuation rather than romance, then you will probably enjoy this read.

Side note - hero meets heroine when she is underage. I know that’s a big no for some, so I’m including that in my goodreads review!

I am a very big fan of dark reads, but this book was just rape and control. No, Drake had no redeeming qualities at all. Didn't care one bit about the things he did to Evelyn. I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time on this book.

3.5 stars. It was dark, which is just what I was looking for. The story itself was interesting and kept me riveted. Drake was far more of a dark figure than I thought, and Evelyn was a rather sassy victim, keeping me wondering what he'd do next. The writing itself was really good and the flashbacks were perfectly timed. My biggest issue is the prologue should have been done in the timeline, not as a before. The shock factor would have heightened the angst immeasurably. Also, the last chapter, I ...more
