Dayum, what a ride! 'Possession' is dark, intriguing and kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time. A depraved dark erotica from beginning until the end, Jamie Roberts’s newest release is gripping, captivating, magnetic, violent and brutal and contains graphic scenes with sexual assault content, so please proceed with caution. If you are not a fan of dark stories, this is not the book for you. An incredibly written tale of love and possession, this story is told in such a way you w...more
Wow! Jaimie Roberts never ceases to blow me away with the completely f*cked-up stories that come out of her twisted mind. If you've followed my reviews for long, you know that dark, disturbing stories are my favorite kind. I just love a story that pushes my boundaries and makes me tremble with equal parts fear and anticipation. This is exactly that kind of story.
Now, if you're not a fan of truly ...more
I obviously did not read the same book as everyone else.
Because everyone else's book was 4+ stars.
But my book?
Was sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, all over the fucking place SLOPPY.
The time jumps made no sense.
I felt like I was playing drunken hopscotch on a rocky hill.
Evelyn was a little punk bitch and I wanted Drake to drop kick her ass.
And Drake's supposedly "dark" backstory?
Well, it was just lame.
Sorry, but I've read it in at least three other books before.
And it was done bet ...more
⭐⭐⭐⭐! Possession (stand-alone). How Evelyn finds herself possessed by much older businessman Drake!
“For years, I have hated, lusted, and loved that man with a passion so fierce that it burned me from the inside out. I loathed his possessiveness and the power he held over me for so long that all I could think about was an escape.”
I will try to write a better review when I catch up…

I found the story to be well written and I loved the author's writing style, it kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation for what’s next. Although I didn’t love the characters – at first, I enjoyed the story and found myself loving them by the end of the book.
what I really wanted and didn’t get was his POV. Drake came off as a major bully. He’s a selfish cold, harsh asshole. Who took everything he ever wanted, and didn't give two shits about what ...more

I enjoyed this book for what it was, by that I mean it was simple.
But because I enjoyed it and her books are free on Kindle Unlimited, I will was utilize her books as fillers – you know those book you read in between really good, soul aching books.
The story line was cute but I NEVER felt a connection with the main characters, I NEVER felt invested in their lives. It was like hearing gossip at the beauty or barb ...more
I've read and loved every single book I've had the pleasure of reading by this author who fast became one of my favourites.
You need to heed the authors Warning: Contains graphic scenes with sexual assault content. Please proceed with caution.
This book is all kinds of f#cked up one minute your warming up to drake then the next you're reading the antics of a monster, like a tap he goes from cold to hot, flicks from light to dark in a blink of an eye. From chilly to gritty from the begi ...more
Overall Opinion: I felt like this had potential for being a good captivity type story, but sadly just didn't get there. I enjoyed it at times, while other times I just had troubles believing some of the stuff that went on. (view spoiler)[For example, when the h told her best friend about being sold and used as a sex slave, the friend didn't hardly react. She just felt bad for pushing the h's relationship with the H. I guess sex slavery and human trafficking is an everyday thing?!?... ( ...more

Evelyn Montgomery might live a comfortable life physically, but emotionally she felt neglected. At twelve years old, she met a man who gave her the attention she needed. He was her savior in more than one way. That was until he became the monster to her living nightmare.
Drake Salvatore was a powerful man. His name alone would incite fear among the people. When he wanted something, he would get it by any means necessar ...more
Drake is a bastard, through and through. I'd like to say he has redeeming qualities, but nope, nuh-uh, he has none! He certainly isn't deserving of Evelyn. She's far to innocent to fit into his world. But eh what's free will when you've never had it?
Is having free will like owning trinkets? A rare commodity that can be shelved and later ta ...more

Jaimie kindly gave me Possession to “read at my leisure” as she is a doll (even if she writes like a possessed woman) and knew I’m burrowed deep in ARCs trying to keep up with my reads and blog. Do you think I waited to read this one? Nope. As soon as I stopped reading my previous b ...more
"Sometimes, life isn’t about fairytales and finding that perfect someone. There’s no such thing as perfect. We all have our flaws."
This book is the first book by Jaimie Roberts I’ve ever read but definitely it’s not the last. This one is a Dark book that I adore. Everything was perfect and I really enjoyed it and loved it.
At the age of fourteen, Evelyn’s parents became bankrupt. So they sold their only child to Drake Salvatore to become his when she is eighteen. At that moment she didn’t ...more
I've been struggling with this book for ten days and now I'm calling it. I quit. The back and forth in time is really frustrating and only ruins my enjoyment of this story. Also Evelyn and Drake are two characters that does nothing for me. They give me whiplash with their emotions. I expected something more from this story. I like it dark. Very dark indeed and Possession was alright in that department. It was just the construction of the story and its characters that didn't work for me. ...more
My first read from Jaimie Roberts and I was shocked. I didn't imagine to be this dark and gritty. I usually enjoy this kind of genre, but POSSESSION left me confused. However, the ending really saved me with the unpredictable turn out of events.
Evelyn Montgomery "promised" to Drake Salvatore by her parents when she was fourteen. In the eyes of twelve years old's Evelyn, Drake is everything. He saved Evelyn. She adore him so much and dream to be with him. But something chang ...more
How many books did I just read? There was the taboo teenager/adult love story in the beginning. All above board. It was sweet, alpha, protective. Loved it. Then we moved to dominant, S&M plus r ape, I still don't know why he had to r ape her. What happened to him? He turned into a violent, nasty, r aping a hole. Then we went dark, held captive, more r ape. Next Mr responsible and romantic popped up and to finish a happy families HEA. Ain't life grand.

Possession was painfully difficult for me to finish. I've read and enjoyed other books by Jaimie Roberts, but this one wasn't for me. It just... didn't work.
I couldn't connect to the story or the characters. I found Evelyn extremely annoying and Drake was pretty bland even though he had a secret. The side characters were also uninteresting.
Even though my experience wasn't a positive one, this won't stop me from reading other books by Jaimie Roberts.
Evelyn Montgomery grew up in household where shady deals were transacted, however, she didn’t expect for her family to view her as an asset rather than as a daughter. At twelve years old, she met a man that gave her hope and a sense of friendship. As she got older, Evelyn began to realize this man was more than a friend that would stop at nothing to protect her, or at least so she thought.

This was traumatizing and amazing all at once.
This is the story of Evelyn and Drake.
Evelyn, who at 12 meets Drake and finds her protector.
At 14 proposes to him.
At 16 defies him.
And at 18 becomes his wife.
Drake, who's been insanely obsessed with Evelyn since he saw her. He waits for her to become legal, then he possesses her.
This isn't for the faint of heart. It's not as dark as some romances out there, but its still pretty gruesome.

Looking through the reviews on here, I'm definitely the odd man out on this baby. I loved every second of it. Drake was so possessive and controlling, and even when he became too OTT (view spoiler)[AKA Rapish (hide spoiler)], I still loved him. He was freaking hot as hell. And I enjoyed living vicariously through Evelyn's eyes. I adored her trying to push back against Drake's overbearing control, and I LOVED witnessing Evelyn succumbing to her desire and attraction to Drake. I'm ...more

This book was FILLED with triggers. The hero/anti-hero and OM do terrible things to the heroine, and feel very little to no remorse. If you like captive romance, iffy consent, and more possession/infatuation rather than romance, then you will probably enjoy this read.
Side note - hero meets heroine when she is underage. I know that’s a big no for some, so I’m including that in my goodreads review!
In June 2013, Jaimie published her first book, Take a Breath, with the second released in November 2013. With the reviews, Jaimie took time out to read and learn how to become a better writer. She gets tremendous enjoyment out of writing, and even more so from the feed ...more
