This was a cute holiday read, reminded me a little of the movie Laws of Attraction, which is also a cute movie. I kept meaning to read this one over Christmas, but ran out of time. Anyway, this was a fun little escape, perfect for a quick afternoon read. I loved the setting and Christmas atmosphere. It would have made a nice full-length novel, but ended up being perfect and everything wrapped up nicely. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys contemporary Christmas romance, even if it's no longe

I adore this series and each book can stand alone. Harper is a divorce attorney with a somewhat bitter attitude towards love and marriage, with good reason. The opposing counsel on her most current case is hottie, Gabriel, who is positive and believes in second chances. A misunderstanding lands both of them at the same cabin for the Christmas holiday. In a style reminiscent of a Hallmark Christmas movie, the sparks and chemistry between these opposites ignites into a sweet and festive story.

This book is overflowing with all that is sweet and romantic in the perfect wintery Christmas setting - Lake Tahoe! (I love Lake Tahoe! I actually prefer it in the summer though- I'm a girl that doesn't like to be cold.)

I think Gabriel is perfectly named for the angel that he is. He stole the show with his thoughtfulness and kindness in this book. I just loved him. Harper is a bit more jaded then Gabriel and has a harder time letting go and allowing herself to feel. Opposites definitely attract

Harper Avery is a divorce attorney. So is Gabriel Hart. The similarities stop there.

Harper is a bit jaded. Because one of her earlier relationships didn't work out, she feels that moving on quickly forces things to hurt less. Gabriel believes in second chances, believes that love can work miracles.

Harper's client's soon-to-be ex-husband wants to reconcile. Gabriel is his attorney and goes head to head with Harper over letting the couple get on with a second chance.

Favorite Quotes:

He’d seemed like the perfect guy from the start. He was ambitious and driven, with just enough playfulness to make him interesting.

My dad used to tell me that Christmas is the perfect time to reset yourself, because an open heart willing to give love and second chances can change the world.

My Review:

A short and sweet Christmas read to wind down on Christmas Day seemed just the right thing to do, so I dived into a delightful little Susan Hatler story for the very first time, and a

Jaded divorce attorney, Harper, does not believe in love or happily ever afters. There's a reason for the wall she's built around her heart. In her experience, love always ends in hurt. It should be no surprise that she is pro divorce. Why be married and miserable? So when her client's soon to be ex decides he still loves her and wants another chance, Harper will fight with everything she has to make sure that doesn't happen.

Susan Hatler writes romance you just cant put down. I just cannot get enough of this series. Susan made me fall in love with blue moon bay and in this sweet novella, she made me want to go to Lake Tahoe. Add the magic of Christmas, sprinkle some romance and you have a sweet story.
Talk about opposites attracting. Harper and Gabriel are both divorce attorneys with widely different opinions about love. Gabriel believes in second chances while Harper is jaded after a romance turned sour. Harper deci

3.5 rounding up for this book.

This book had me on a whole spectrum of feelings. From moments that I absolute loved to ones that were cute, to that was ok and all the way down to some moments bothering me. Overall it was a fun Christmas read with witty dialogue as the two MCs bantered back and forth. There was plenty of sparks flying, sparks of love and sparks of angry. Harper and Gabriel are both divorce attorneys who are each representing one side of a couple filing for divorce. This divorce fu

What I love about Susan Hatler's books is that I know to cozy up because I am going to be drawn in and staying awhile! I can always count on Hatler to write a contemporary romance that feels authentic and gives me all the feels! Harper's story was no exception as I easily fell into her life and followed every step of her journey with Gabriel. I felt the butterflies right along with Harper, the cold snowy weather and saw and smelled the pine Christmas tree! A great clean Christmas romance, I woul ...more

Believe In Second Chances... Believe In Love...

Harper is a no-nonsense, non-romantic divorce lawyer who works hard to get her clients what they deserve in their divorce settlements. Gabriel is also a divorce lawyer, sweet, romantic, professional, and thoughtful. He believes in second chances at love. She does not. Can he persuade her otherwise? When the two accidentally both rent the same cabin over Christmas, will they learn to work out their disagreements? Or will her past hurt

Susan Hatler always writes really cute love stories and this was no exception. The Christmas trip to the cabin was great, all of the Christmas references made me really happy, and Harper and Gabriel were cute. The love story was a bit rushed for my liking, but it was still a lot of fun to read.

A good idea, but poor writing.
Harper and Gabriel are opposing counsels in a divorce case and the two have opposing visions about it; he believes that everyone deserves a second chance in life and she thinks that when a marriage is over that should be the end of it. When the couple they are working with decides to try to reconcile, Harper decides to spend the holidays in a friend's cabin, but when she arrives there she discovers that Gabriel has already occupied the cabin. Both decide to stay there and while they spend time ...more

5 Star Read:
As always I love everything I read from Susan Hatler she is among my favorite authors. I enjoyed how easy flowing this read was. Unfortunately, I read this series out of order and also missed a couple. However, the best thing is that this each book can be read as an individually. The worst thing is that I want more of this store. It was just too short.

My absolute favorite and will read again and again. I strongly recommend! It has outstanding qualities. The characters are wonderful

Susan Hatler has written yet another feel good romance story! A Christmas Kiss is a short story that is a part of the Kissed by the Bay series but can be read as a stand alone story.

Harper has vowed never to give her heart to a man but she finds herself doing just that when it comes to Gabriel. I can’t really blame her, what’s not to love about Gabriel? He loves his work and is a true romantic, believing in love that lasts a life time and giving people second chances. Harper has been through har

A Christmas Kiss by Susan Hatler is another novella in her Kissed by the Bay series. Ms. Hatler never disappoints me when it comes to a fun and well rounded story. Her characters are always well developed and the scenery descriptions make me feel like I am right there.

The plot is well paced and I felt like I really got to know both Harper and Gabriel as they got to know each other. They are both strong characters but still flawed and yet easily likeable. They are both divorce lawyers but they ap

I wanted a light feel good read, and this hit the nail on the head, it reminded me of those cheesy made for TV Christmas movies with the HEA. Harper and Gabriel are divorce attorneys on opposing counsel, and due to a mix up they end up spending the days leading up to Christmas alone together in a friends remote log cabin in Tahoe. Harper is very much the glass is half empty and to her love is just a word, she dies not believe in haooy ever afters. Gabriel in the other hand

A Christmas Kiss was utterly sweet. I loved the simplicity of this romance. The story was clean, adorable and memorable. The characters were strong, yet flawed just enough to be interesting. My favorite part was their second chance reunion.

G-rated, short-story, Christmas romance

A cynical female divorce attorney rediscovers the spirit of Christmas--and romance--when she accidentally finds herself sharing a double-booked Lake Tahoe cabin with her opposite number in a contentious divorce case, a fellow divorce attorney with a surprising faith in the redemptive power of true love.

This is not a full romance novel but rather a short story. As such it can be forgiven for employing a plot point that is the bane of jaded romance readers, "

This was a good story but I did’t really got into it.
I found this one a bit too predictable and Harper was a bit too dramatic for my liking.
Gabriel on the other hand was super sweet and charming.

One kiss under the mistletoe....But what if there is no mistletoe is it still a Christmas kiss

A Christmas Kiss is the fifth book in the Kissed by the Bay series and is a charming and sweet story. I have read and also purchased several of the book in this series and enjoyed them, which is the same with this one. This time the story is about Harper and Gabriel. Both are divorce attorneys who are on the opposite sides of love. She has seen it all and is jaded at the prospect of love and marriage wh

A Christmas Kiss marks my first time reading Susan Halter. If all of her books are like this, then she definitely has a new fan.

The cover for A Christmas Kiss drew me in and well, I might have forgotten to read the blurb and see what the book was about. Sometimes going in blind makes for a good story. You as a reader don’t have a preconceived idea of what’s going to happen or what should happen. You just read the story for what it is.
