'કમઠાણ' આ પુસ્તકમાં હાસ્યમય અને રહસ્યમય કથા ઓ છે. રાતના દોઢેકને સુમારે રઘલો એક મકાનના છાપરામાં ભગદાળું પાડીને, દોરડાને બેવડ મોભ સાથે બાંધીને કમરમાં ઉતરેલો.માથા પરનો હજુરિયો છોડીને, તેણે ગજવામાંથી ટોર્ચ કાઢી અને હજુરિયો તેના કાચ પર બાંધીને ઝાખું અજવાળું કર્યું હતું.... ત્યારે તે ચોકી ઉઠ્યો હતો... જે ઘરમાં તે ઉતર્યો હતો તે ઇન્સ્પેકટર રાઠોડનું ઘર હતું.... કંઈક દ્વિધામાં તે થોડી મીનીટો ઉભો રહ્યો....પછી નિર્ણય લીધો અને રાઠોડસાહેબના યુનિફોર્મ, પિસ્તોલ, ચંદ્રકો અને ત્રણ હજાર રૂપિયાની માલમતા ઉઠાવીને ફરાર થયેલો. ઇતિહાસમાં તસ્કર જાતિ તરીકે પંકાયેલી જાતિના આ તસ્કરને પકડવા માટે રાઠોડસાહેબ અને પોલીસ પર શું વીતી તેની આ પુસ્તક માં રહસ્ય અને હાસ્યભરી કથા છે.

26 books289 followersAshwini Bhatt was born to educationist Harprasad Bhatt and Sharadaben Bhatt on 12 August 1936 in Ahmedabad. He graduated in psychology. He was interested in theatre and he worked as a child artist in Gujarati adoption of Bengali drama Bindur Chhele (Bindu No Kiko). He had failed in several business ventures like poultry farm to a vegetable vendor before starting career as a writer. He moved to United States in 2002. He died on 10 December 2012 at Dallas, Texas, US
He wrote twelve novels and three novellas. He translated several works in Gujarati including Alistair MacLean and James Hadley Chase. He also translated Freedom at Midnight by Collins and Lapierre in Gujarati as Ardhi Rate Azadi which was critically acclaimed.
His serialized novels include Othaar, Faanslo, Aashka Maandal, Katibandh, Nirja Bhargav, Lajja Sanyal, Aayno, Angaar, Jalkapat and Aakhet. Besides writing novels, he was also involved in theatre. His Katibandh was made into TV series.

કમઠાણ એક નવા નિયુક્ત પોલીસ ઇન્સ્પેક્ટર વિશેની વાર્તા કહે છે અને કેવી રીતે તેનો યુનિફોર્મ અને રિવોલ્વર નાના શહેરનો ચોર ચોરી લે છે. તેની પુત્રીના લગ્ન માટે કંઈક મૂલ્યવાન મેળવવા માટે ચોર તર્ક ને છોડી પોલીસ ના ઘરે જ હાથ સાફ કરે છે. આ નાની ઘટના ડોમિનો ઇફેક્ટ શરૂ કરે છે જે તમને હસાવીને લોટપોટ કરી દેશે. વાર્તા ચોરાયેલો સામાન શોધવાનો પ્રયાસ કરતી પોલીસ અને આવા કિંમતી સામાન સાથે પકડાઈ ન જવાનો પ્રયાસ કરતી ચોરની આસપાસ ફરે છે. પરિસ્થિતિઓ અને પાત્રો એકદમ રમુજી છે. ચોરો સહિતના તમામ પાત્રો પોતાને એવા અસામાન્ય અને સાંભળ્યા ન હોય તેવા સંજોગોમાં જોવા મળે છે કે જેના પર વિશ્વાસ કરવો મુશ્કેલ છે છતાં તમે વાંચતા જાશો એમ લાગશે કે સાલું એવું પણ બની શકે હો.
હું અશ્વિની ભટ્ટ દ્વારા લખાયેલી રોમાંચક અને રહસ્યમયી નવલકથાઓ ની હંમેશાંથી ચાહક રહી છું પણ એમની રમૂજ પણ એ જ સ્તર પર છે. આ પુસ્તક આટલું સારું હશે એવી મને અપેક્ષા નહોતી! તમામ ગુજરાતીઓએ વાંચવું જ જોઈએ. તેમાં એક સરસ પ્લોટ છે, સ્ટોરી લાઇન આકર્ષક, મનોરંજક, સાહસિક, રમૂજી છે, જે તમને હંમેશા તમારી ખુરશીની ધાર પર રાખે છે અને તમને મોટેથી હસાવે છે. નાના શહેરની પોલીસ કેવી રીતે કામ કરે છે અને લોકો તેમની આસપાસ કેવી રીતે વર્તે છે તેના સ્વભાવ માટે તે ખૂબ અધિકૃત છે. હું જેટલી ભલામણ કરૂ એટલી ઓછી છે. આજે જ લઈને વાંચો.
What a riot! Absolutely loved it!
Kamthaan tells a story about a newly appointed police inspector and how he gets his uniform and revolver stolen by a small town thief. A desperate attempt of an old timer thief to get something valuable for his daughter's wedding. This small incident starts a domino effect that will leave you in stitches. The story revolves around the police trying to find the stolen goods and the thief trying not to get caught with such precious cargo. The situations and characters are just hilarious. All the characters including the thieves find themselves in such an unusual and unheard of scenarios that's both hard to believe yet one can't help but believe it as you read on.
I was a fan of the mysteries written by Ashwini Bhatt but his humour is on the same level. I didn't expect this book to be so good! All the gujarati people must read it. It has a great plot, story line is engaging, amusing, adventure, humourous, always keeping you on the edge of your chair and makes you laugh out loud. It's so authentic to the nature of how small town police works and how the people behave around them. I can't recommend it enough. Just do yourself a favour and read it!

WHAT A BOOK !!!
The flip side of the author, Ashwini Bhatt is unbelievable. The author who is so famous for penning down the thrillers, can so effortlessly pen down such a humorous novel was a surprise for me.
This book made me laugh, relieve me of all my stress. An ultimate laugh riot that made to my all time favorite list and the one which I will turn to whenever I need a stress buster.

ભદ્રમભદ્ર અને અમે બધા પછી જો સળંગ હાસ્યનવલકથા હોય તો આ કમઠાણ છે. અશ્વિની ભટ્ટની એક અલગ બાજુ તમે જોશો. બધા જ પાત્રો એક થી ચડીયાતા છે.
