It has a very interesting story line, with an original plot. The story is told on two points of view of the same person in different ages…. Sounds confusing!?? Well just a little and only in the beginning. So let's start there.
We have two heroines, different dates, 1480 and today. The story is told alternating dates and heroines.
In 1480 we have a princes vampyre aware of who she is and of her powers, as her place in the world, on the other hand we have a present day we have a just turned 19 yea ...more

Told through alternating viewpoint is the story of Antanasia who was a vampire hybrid from hundreds of years ago and Nadia, a modern teen who has some strange things occur on her 19th birthday. How these two are connected is a mystery that Nadia desperately wants to uncover.
I will admit that I was originally lured in by the pretty cover- I absolutely love image used, with the two girl’s faces blending into each other. Once I saw the cover, I knew I had to read the book. I found the story to be ...more

Awakening: Bloodline is a story of two parts - one is told by Nadia, who has just celebrated her 19th birthday in the present day. The other is told by Ananstasia in the past. They are one and the same, but it all becomes clear as the story progresses. Nadia has her friends and mother, but her life is changing and she doesn't know who she can speak to. New characters appear in her life, and she doesn't know what to do with them either.

Awakening does not read like a debut novel. The writing is rich in history and culture and the plot is enthralling. As I mentioned before, I’m a purist when it comes to vampire mythology and having the story take place in Romania made the story that much more appealing to me. I love how well researched this book was. Adding elements of historical fact and culture adds a much desired sense of realism to the story and for me that is important. It may be fantasy, but it still has to make a certain

This is a book about two girls going through changes that is going effect their way of life. Antanasia and Nadia. We see two lives one in New York 2015 and Wallachia 1480. The chapters are clearly marked so it was easy to follow the story. This is a first of hopefully a series because after all the world building and folklore mixed in kept me glued to the pages.

This book alternates between Wallachia 1480 and New York 2015 and between Antanasia and Nadia. The world building and the vampire folklore really appealed t me and I loved reading about these two women. As the book unfolds the connections between these two women become evident and the story picks up. The pace is consistent through the book and had me hooked. Both women were intriguing to read about and I need to know what happens in future books.

Strange things are happening to Nadia who lives in New York, 2015. She is starting to have blackouts and not remembering what she did or how she ended up in the places where she wakes up. Nadia starts having some strange cravings ones that she wants no part of but eventually has no choice when her body takes over and she has one of her blackouts. Nadia tries to hide a lot of what is going from her friends but she does try to get her mother to explain to her what is happening to her but her mom i

Anastasia has a vision that she is running away from attackers through the woods. It always ends with her being shot with a silver arrow. As a Vampyre, this causes excruciating pain as it burns through flesh and bone, preventing her from healing.
Many centuries later, Nadia starts having the same dream as she awakens into a Vampyre around her nineteenth birthday. Her mother can’t find the words to tell Nadia she has the essence of one who is destined to overcome the Order of the Dragon. Nadia stu ...more

As an aficionado of vampire fiction, I was really excited to pick up Awakening: Bloodline by Tiera Rice. Beautiful cover, intriguing synopsis, destiny and romance, all the markings of a great YA paranormal book! But, they all fell a little flat for me. I was disappointed and left expecting and wanting more.
Now, as I’m not Rroma, my review will not be touching upon whether this was culturally acceptable, or whether the speech was fluid and made sense (I wish so ...more
