You know how stuff always goes wrong when you're planning a wedding? OH, boy! You've NEVER seen things go wrong like they do for Emerald O'Brien, owner and proprietor of Chintz 'n' China shop and tearoom, and village witch. Let's see now...her very difficult family is in town for the festivities, her shower is crashed by her drunken ex, her dress is abandoned (in pieces) in the seamstress' shop, her best friend is being stalked by a psycho, her sister has given her a gift that feels "off," ...more

***I received a free copy of this book and this review is voluntary*** Well ding dong and sound the gong, Emerald is getting married!!! True to his word in the previous book, Joe had done pop the question. I totally believe that the universe had presented Joe to Emerald and made sure they hooked up. Even if it was one of the worst nights of her life at the time. But what is supposed to be the best time of her life, is turning into cannon fodder for any bridezilla! What can go wrong, will go ...more

One Hex of a Wedding by Yasmine Galenorn is book 5 in her Chintz ‘n China Mysteries series. In One Hex of a Wedding we catch up with Emerald O’Brien as she prepares to get married to her fiancée Joe Files. The wedding is just a matter of days away but that doesn’t mean that trouble isn’t going to start cropping up all around her. Things get roaring away when Emerald’s ex-husband Roy makes an appearance thanks to a misplaced invitation from her son Kip but Roy isn’t able to keep his mouth shut ...more

Just Unmitigated & Annoying Crap......

I didn't like any of the characters from page 1 to where ever it was that I stopped.

Over the top and so very fake.... I'm taking this & the other in the series right back to the Library.

So this "psychic" gal is at her pre-wedding party, and her abusive drunk ex-husband shows up, and she (stoopidly) invites him in, where he proceeds to cause a huge scene & fight.... ruining the cake, buffet, dinner.

Some relative, a "Native American" shaman then

Author has strong command of language.

Ms. Galenorn has a very rich vocabulary, and her descriptions are very vivid. However, she could use a little review of sentence structure and English grammar. I also would edit out some of the hocus pocus. It started to get a little repetitive, and dark.

Wedding plans are hard enough without having an uninvited ex who fights with your fiancé. The next day gun shot at Joe. and ex is the suspect. This is giving Emerald worries she doesn’t want, instead of happy memories.
Been a delightful series, good characters and clean enjoyment.

Finding the love of your life

I'm not usually into many of the things to do with scents, folklore etc. but this was a great story. Lots of friends and family that truly cared. I do like the way problems were resolved. This story really had my attention

Wedding Chaos

This is an awesome book, a cross between a paranormal romance and a cozy mystery. Great characters and an intriguing storyline. Part of a series but just fine as a stand-alone. Highly recommended!

Enjoy the relationships

The characters forge relationships that may seem unusual but reflect how things can happen in real life. This is a standalone but I believe you will enjoy it more if you start at the beginning of the series.

Omg these books were so awesome! Emerald, Murray & Harlow are so good together, Joe & Jimbo I was great add in to the mix of all the ghosts and paranormal stuff that always hit Emerald. I laughed and then there were times I cried I felt so bad for her, I can't wait for book number 7 ...more

Charming. I think these older works show a lot more originality than her more recent writing.
