Here's another book that revolves around the theme of animals who are reluctant to hibernate. (At this point in a seemingly endless winter, I would like nothing more than to burrow down under the blankets, and have it be spring when I awake . . . ) In this cute, but unremarkable tale, we have a little hedgehog who just wants to have fun before the Big Nap - is that so wrong? (Not necessarily, but in this book - it can be dangerous.)

Beautiful illustrations by the author!

Florence learns it's better to hibernate rather than dealing with Fox.

a hedgehog and two squirrels get lost in the forest and can't find their way home in time for the hedgehog to hibernate for winter. Cute friendship but not good listening on hedgehog's part.

I love the big colorful books. I also like simple books that convey lessons in safety and obedience. We will definitely read this again.

This is a fun and sweet story about a young little hedgehog who wants to venture out and see what the winter world is really like. It is a great story about adventure, safety, trusting your gut, and using the tools given to you. It’s okay to adventure and explore as long as you are safe!
