But when his ex-lovers start arriving in body bags, Harold believes he’s receiving a message to create a new masterpiece.

This is probably the best extreme horror novel I have read so far and I read a few dozen of those.

I do strongly believe that talking about anything prevents topics from beeing underrepresented or suppressed, which causes much more damage and madness than an open conversation. Like this old saying that cultures that don´t talk about sh** and dirt tend to treat humans like that. I would not go so far as to say that bare-knuckle literature like that makes the world a better place, but it certainly

Maybe 3.5 STARS...

I have a theory - please bear with me:
The ghost of Marquis De Sade possessed Mr. Triana while he was reading Frankenstein, inspiring him to write his own version.

I'm going back and forth with my opinion on this one - there was SO much weird (and sometimes just plain gross) sex in the story...but if a large part of the story consists of shooting illegal porn, you can't really judge it too harshly.

So, here is the thing:
This story is extreme and will offend most people because of

I thought I had a basic idea of what I was getting into with this one just by looking at the cover. What I didn’t know was the extreme level of pure unadulterated depravity and over-the-top sickness I was in store for. I think I almost barfed on several occasions.

Alrighty, people. Let’s make a movie…

All we need is an artistic mortician, an aging master of the cock, a young couple on a lovers getaway and the Shakespeare of smut to film it all.

First of all, I must tip my hat to the gang at Blood Bound Books for the fantastic presentation of this novel. The cover is classic VHS, 80s style and I love it. It captures the feel of the book perfectly.

Kristopher Triana’s ‘Body Art’ is an absolute smutfest! Porn superstar Kandi Hart is still plying her trade in the industry, although she doesn’t get as much cash as she used to, largely due to her age. When a call from one of her directors offers her the chance to earn some big money and be th

Damn, that was intense. This book started out tame, a normal-ish porn feel to it. Then, it took a hard fucking turn. Triana's writing is so smooth and clean you almost don't even realize the filth you're reading. The first half was great, but it built up the climax so perfectly. The second half was chaos and all out brutality. I had no idea who was making it out alive or who was going to succumb to the Goddess. My favorite of his by far. ...more

You are not ready!

Wow this book is on another level of depravity and sexual atrocities.

If I had to help someone visualize this book I would say it’s like a XXX version of Bride Of Reanimator meets From Beyond with the orgy scene from Society cranked up to 11, but that barely gives you an idea of everything that happens in this novel.

This story much like its title is art plain and simple. The images are so vivid that you can’t help but visualize the grotesque, nightmarish sequences to life.

My first thought when reading the title was, "Tattoos and body mods, oh my!" Although there isn't a piercing to be found, this is one deliciously demented and sexy read. (It gave me nightmares and let me say, that is nothing to sneeze at. It takes a lot to make me cringe, let alone disturb me enough to cross into my sleeping brain.) But even more than that, its a damn good, well written story. Try not rooting for the tough as nails Kandi. And even feeling sympathy for the not quite socially adep ...more

Loved it. Sex, horror, torture, necrophilia with lots of adults themes. Great characters, makes you feel like a fly on the wall. Could not put down. Very exciting. Oh and lots of horror.

I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, Blood Bound Books!
Not for the faint of heart. It is called an "extreme horror novel" and they mean it. If blood, guts, gore and sexual perversions are not your thing, please stay away. I am starting to believe that I am a psychopath seeing that I enjoyed it. It's like an even more twisted version of the Hellraiser series (which I love). Harold is an undertaker who considers his job restoring

Like the inscription says, "... Now grab some lube and a barf bag, It's time to film!" You may want to go ahead and lay down some plastic sheeting and don a poncho as well.

Mr. Triana has successfully written one of the most depraved novels that I have read to date. I mean this in the most complimentary way, of course! I am proud to say that it takes a lot to get under my skin and there were a few scenes in this book that got there.

This is truly extreme horror. Two separate plot threads (an unsavory mortuary worker and an underground porn shoot) collide in to an orgy of depravity soaked in sundry bodily fluids.

If you are looking for grue, you can't do better than Body Art. The difference for me is the skill of Mr. Triana both in constructing a compelling plot and populating it with real characters. We may care about them, we may hate them, but there aren't any aren't interested in.

Having debuted with Growing Dark, a horror short story collection, Kristopher Triana continued with bleak and harshly realistic “The Ruin Season”, a novel you probably would never expect from a horror author.

With his second novel he goes bak to his roots and delivers a very different beast: a super hardcore, dirty, hard-hitting, over-the-top violent and downright crazy little book that you horror fiends shouldn’t miss on on no account.
The novel tells three stories, separate to some point (first

Curveball of a Read!

Body Art by Kristopher Triana was my first venture into the world and mind of Triana. I must say this book took me a moment to process! What an insane, bizarre, and a fun wild ride! The cover really caught my eye, and by no means is it misleading, but it definitely had a different depth to it than I was expecting!

Body Art encompasses the lives of several people seemingly on different paths in life. However, their lives will converge in a series of unlikely events. There is th

Body Art by Kristopher Triana you will never forget 'cause the images are implanted on your brain and refuse to leave. Though you certainly are going to try to take away its impact of sex, death, and horror screaming in your brain. Some would say this is not art and the entire book is trash appealing to our baser instincts. And yet they don't understand art is the creation of images and emotions, an embodiment of work telling a story whether it's a painting, sculpture, photograph, film, or a boo ...more

Another book picked because of numerous recommendations in my horror book club and I completely see why.
This is one of those books that is so dirty and disgusting but you compulsively keep reading to see where it is going, which I did in one sitting.
The author explores the dark side of porn. Rutger the producer is on a quest to provide some hardcore extreme and shocking videos that push the boundaries and he gets in touch with Kandi an aging star of his movies back in the day. However a

This was my first real journey into the extreme horror, or splatterpunk genre.
I knew from reviews and the description of the book, what I was getting myself into. I was prepared to read something that was horrific and disturbing, it’s why I decided to read it.
This book deals with a whole bunch of “taboo” subjects (necrophilia, cannibalism, snuff films, fetishes, etc.) and I found the overall idea of the plot to be good. However, I’m not really a fan of horror being gross just for the sake of b

“Quality adult films are about the music of the flesh, the art of the body.”

Harold is an undertaker with a particular affinity for his cadavers. His work is something he considers art - to make these bodies look so life like, one might think they have a heartbeat. Rutger and Kandi are the dynamic duo of the porn industry, here to make quality adult films like no other. But Rutger’s vision this time is a little more brutal and Kandi isn’t sure if she can handle it. Toby and Jessica are two young

Frankenstein meets underground horror porn.

This novel is where the supernatural take control of bodies as puppetiers and put them on a display only truly fucked up art lovers of the obscure can appreciate.

This sounds a lot less horrible than it actually is. Self-mutilation, dark fetishes, necrophilia, torture, porn stars, and gore might paint a terr

What does a soon-to-be college student, his wild child girlfriend and a porn star have in common? Much more than you might imagine. Toby had just graduated from high school and was looking forward to a vacation. He and his girlfriend rented a secluded cabin. It's while they are exploring the area that their vacation takes a sharp left turn. Toby and Jessica may never be the same after this.

This book takes horror and X-rated ideas to the highest level. Well written and deeply disturbing, this b

Not for everyone

There are books that incorporate sex, and gore in their narratives, but nothing like this. This was well written, reminding me of an Edward Lee story, until the end that is. The end of this book is nothing but an abomination, and i loved it.
With every sort of pornography so readily available now, i wonder how many people get so jaded that they want the next thing, whatever that is. This story is an example of underground porn going wickedly wrong. Don't read if you have a weak

Ok, I’ve finished the read.

I cannot do justice to this book with an attempt at a review, because I usually don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about anyway.

I could use the usual words, like morbid, depraved, extreme, but why? You aren’t going to read this book on accident.

I’ll try to sum up the trip that Mr. Triana takes you on with one word. Transcendent.

I hesitated before giving this 5 stars, but only because it probably red-flags the FBI.
