TYKE
It's all I ever loved,
All I ever wanted.
Football is it for me.
The lights, the turf, the feel of the ball in my hands,
There's nothing that means more to me.

But then, I meet Rilla James.
It's a game changer right from the start.
Now, all I want is her,
Everything about her.

RILLA
It's a love-hate relationship.

Okay read

A cute Southern story about a guy who loves football and his biggest fan. Tyke has been through an awful tragedy and Rilla is just what he needed to save his life in more ways than one. Tyke and Rilla are sweet and so cute together, but I felt like it needed more depth to their story. I felt like Rilla was too good to be true and it was an insta love that I would have liked to see played out further.

Tyke Douglas is the star of the show. Star quarter back that's going places. Until one drunken night turned him into a star criminal and killed his girlfriend & best friend. One bad decision can change everyone's outlook about you. A mere accident changed the course of 3 futures.

RJ is stubborn but full of passion. With having a mom leave her to follow her own dreams and having a star football dad raise her she vowed to never let herself get so wrapped up in a boy. But things changed when TD

Tyke leaves, breathes, and dreams about returning to football, his first love. It's his entire focus and nothing has been able to change that. He's determined to get back to that place in his life, leaving behind the tragedy he was responsible for. His decision to drink and drive cost lives, that of his girlfriend and best friend. Never again would he let anything else steal his focus or hurt him like that again. At least, that's what he thought. He just hadn't met Rilla yet. She's a game change ...more

Casey Peeler has proven time and time again she is the queen of the sweet southern romance genre. Lion Eyes yet again reaffirms her reign with it’s small town football games and sassy leading ladies that enamor footballs stars. In this new novel, Peeler pairs football star, Tyke with small town sassy girl Rilla. These two are evenly matched in personality. From the moment they meet, Peeler manipulates their connection into pure angsty perfection. Rilla hates everything Tyke seems to stand for an ...more

Solid 4.5 Star Read

I love love loved this book. It has the perfect combination. Just the right amount of arrogance laughs, as well as sass. This is a well-rounded book and I was captured from the beginning until the end. This book was previously released and this is a second edition. I wish I had read it when it first came out. I feel like I was missing out. I could have fallen in love with this couple sooner. I love Casey as an author and has not disappointed me yet. This was a grea

This was such a cute insta-love story! Tyke was on top of the world and because of a poor decision he ended up losing everything. Two years later he is attempting to take back his life and get back to where he was destined to be. He runs into RJ who is aware of Tyke and his background and while she’s not a fan of him and won’t fall for any of his crap, is also drawn to him and can’t seem to say no or stay away. They start a tradition of starting almost every morning with a run together, and thro ...more

I have read every single one of Casey's books and each time I say "this one is my favorite" - Truth be told, I LOVE all of her books <3

Tyke has made some mistakes in his life and paid the price for them. Not quite ready to give up his dream of football, he takes the only opportunity left for him to play. He packs his bags and heads to Blue Ridge University.

Rilla has spent the last 2 years attending a community college close to home. Her Dad is ready for her to get the

I was hooked on this one, I hated when I had to put it down to do life things. All I wanted to do was curl up and finish reading Lion Eyes. I loved it. It's told in dual POVs of Tyke and Rilla (RJ). I loved that they have uncommon names. They are unique characters. Tyke is a top football player. He's had his issues and had to climb up from some serious things. Playing college football is his second chance at his dream to play pro. He want to focus on football and not girls. Then he crosses paths ...more

Casey Peeler created another southern love story surrounded by football and a tragic past. TD or Tyke is a football star that has a cloud around him from an accident that killed his girlfriend and his best friend. RJ is a bright young woman that has been raised by her father who is a football coach at a college. When TD and RJ meet the instant attraction is off the charts, but RJ is stubborn and believes TD is just another football playing jock/playboy. When the 2 finally allow one another to pe ...more

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and my word, I am looking forward to reading more from her. When Tyke makes a bad decision his life is destroyed, but when he is offered a second chance he leaps at it. Rilla is a sharp-tongued, feisty, with a huge heart, and when she meets Tyke is determined not to fall at his feet like all the other females he is used to, which makes her a challenge! These two have a great chemistry between them.
This story has enough drama and

Lion Eyes is a cute story. I enjoyed Tyke and Rilla for the most part. Rilla was a little frustrating with her hot and cold moods. My heart hurt for Tyke but I enjoyed watching him grow. A cute southern sports romance read.

Lion Eyes, was my first time reading anything written by Casey Peeler, and I wasn't disappointed. This story is a well written, sweet, slow burn, young adult sports romance. Rilla and Tykes story revolves around getting a second chance and questioning your convictions.

Tyke Jamison is an up and coming quarterback with the world as his feet, until one night and a series of bad choices changes his future for ever. He's cocky, bad-ass, arrogant and hot. He's really quite an endearing character unde

This review was originally posted on As Told By TinaYou can basically get me to read anything that involves sports specifically baseball, basketball, hockey and football. Especially football. I love football. So when I heard Casey Peeler was releasing a book where the MC was a football star, I immediately added it to my TBR and to my delight I was able to be apart of the blog tour.

Lion Eyes was a quick read, I read this all in one sitting and before I knew it was over and that left me a tad bit sad. H

This was a great, we'll written story. Tyke is a top quarterback. A poor decision in his past will forever haunt him forever. Tyke has paid his debt to society, but only one college would give him his one last shot of going pro.

When Tyke makes it to the college, he runs into RJ (Rilla), she knows her football, but Tykes reputation preceeded him. These two end up running together every morning. RJ realizes Tyke isn't what the rumors say he is.

This is a heartwarming story of these two falling in

Just finish reading this book and I have to say that I love it, I love the way Casey Peeler writes. I have to say that I love the characters. I have to say that the begging of the book I couldn't stand the main female I felt like smacking the heck out of her but after a while she grow in me and I started to like her. Sweet, college romance about finding yourself and challenging your beliefs about life, love and loss.

This was the first book that I have read by Casey Peeler and I have really enjoyed it.

Looking at the cover and some of the blurb you get the impression that this book is you typical jock romance but it is not and that really impressed me!

The book tells the story of Tyke otherwise known as TD who after making a huge mistake is trying to turn his life around and get back to the one thing he truly loves Football. He is finally about to start playing college ball and he hopes that he will make the

Tyke has only ever wanted to play football in the pros, but one mistake, with devastating consequences, knocked him off course. Now a few years later he has a new chance, and will do everything not to mess it up. Rilla loves and yet, hates football, so she's sworn off dating any players. That is, until Tyke came into her life, and even though she tries to chase him off, he's not biting, so she's starting to think just maybe. Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm all about the pigskin, as football ...more

Sports romance at its finest.

These two were so fun to read about. They have a connection that is felt as soon as they meet. Tyke and Rilla go back and forth with each other till they give into their feelings. They learn about loss, love and being happy no matter what. Highly recommended.

Rilla is sweet and sassy , Tyke is very determined he wants all his focus just on the game that is until he meets the heroine who surprises him by not falling to his feet when they first meet . They had great chemistry and witty banter can't wait to read more from this author and hope to her more about these characters .

I unfairly judged this book by the cover, insert old saying...never judge a book by it's cover. I was expecting this book about a macho jock who doesn't get his way and throws man fits throughout the book. Man, oh man, was I WRONG!!

Once I actually got into the book around chapter 4, I had trouble putting the book down! First off, to actually have two very strong characters who PRAY blew me away! Second, to have their faith in God and their faith in each other very front stage was so

I loved this book! This is the first book I've read by Casey Peeler. I was very pleased with the story but I was a little disappointed in the lack of heat to it. Other than that it was a great read.
Tyke Jamison experienced a personal tragedy a few years earlier. Now he's trying to focus on his love for the game of football! Tyke is serious and doesn't want any distractions but that's impossible when he meets a mysterious girl.

This is the first book I've read by this author and it won't be the last, it took a chapter for me to get into it but once I did I was hooked. One bad decision ruined TD's life and future, given a second chance, he grabs it with both hands. All he wants to focus on is football and the draft, he has no time for love but fate has other ideas. Rilla is a sharp tonged, sassy and feisty girl, she's not the least bit interested in who TD is and tells him so. TD falls hard and fast for

More then a sports book

Rilla claims to hate football and Tyke eat, sleeps, and breaths football. Thus book is about second chances in life and finding yourself. Plus mix in sports and you have a great story.

I've not read anything by this Author before so I was lucky enough to get the chance with this book!

I really enjoyed the depth of the connection that this author was able to establish between the main characters and was able maintain throughout the entire novel!

I believed in the chemistry and emotions between these two!

There's a lot of back story to both these characters that was so enjoyable to read and
I was completely into this tale right until the very end.

I can always count on this author for a sweet southern love story! She never disappoints.

Rilla grew up living and breathing football but wanted more for her future.
