It's a simple formula: Magical power equals political power... Sparks are flying between researcher Anne Crosby and no less than nine men--but it's not what you think. Whenever these nine amnesiacs touch anyone, electrical mayhem results. More surprising: all of them have dust instead of blood in their veins, even though they're quite alive. Dust to Blood by Tonya Cannariato is an awesome 5-Star paranormal book.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters are well written, the story has so much detail and a great storyline.

Anne is sent to Russia to research and find out how some men have amnesia and other symptoms that point to the paranormal. Throughout the book, Anne’s life is in danger with each step closer to discovering what happened with these men.

The secondary character are just as great as Anne’s character and interesting to

Dust to Blood is a paranormal fantasy by Tonya Cannariato and the first book in the Red Slaves Series (cliff-hanger warning!). Anne is a researcher sent by her think tank to investigate nine orphans with mysterious powers. As her research unfolds she is forced to question everything she thought she knew. This book was wildly imaginative, a unique story that will hook you from the start. I really enjoyed the mythology and the author does an amazing job describing the fantasy elements so you feel ...more

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

This was an exciting and intriguing read! I really enjoyed it!

Anne Crosby is a fantastic character. I liked her very much. She is a no nonsense, cynical person, who is methodical and thorough in her approach to her job. However, when her boss sends her to Russia to investigate a strange phenomenon, little does she know what awaits her.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but I was completely s

Anne Crosby is a researcher, sent to Russia by a rich and erratic boss to look into dragons, of all things. Anne is understandably cynical, until she and her research assistant discover the existence of nine orphans who confess to have few memories of their past, and oh....bleed dust instead of blood. Romance and destiny are in the air when Anne feels a strange, alluring connection to one of the orphans.

She recommits to finding the truth about the dragons, but she's not alone in her quest. The K

Big Thanks to Tonya Cannariato for giving me this ebook to review.

Anne Crosby, a 35 year old Researcher for the "Stone Think Tank" is tasked to go to Russia and Research Dragons. She meets her research partner, Igor, and determines that the Dragon's are truly these "Lost Boys" who bleed Red Dust (and have no memory before a certain time). Leading to a vast KGB conspiracy and finding information about who the "Lost Boys" are.

Anne is a loner type and is very stuck up. Luckily her character seems t

My penname was given this book as a thank you. I wanted to review it on this account though because I want to relate it to another book I've read recently. The Prodigal's Foole is similar to Dust to Blood. Both find magic in a religious/political framework. Dust to Blood is a tad slow out of the gates and seems to jump very abruptly into the magic from a scientific pursuit. However, it is also engaging and frames itself very well in Russia, the Ukraine and Kazakh. None of these are areas I'm fam ...more

Dust to Blood by Tonya Cannariato is the first book in her new series Red Slaves, and what a fantastic hit out of the park in the fantasy/paranormal realm. Following the story of Anne Crosby on her investigation of the nine amnesiacs and how their torture is connected to their dust blood. With this dust blood they have more strength, intelligence and electricity than anyone could have believed. The torture of these men put Anne and her investigation into dangers path more than once, making her l ...more

Dust to Blood (Red Slaves) by Tonya Cannariato was a interesting read, with an engaging plot with a original concept, and tons of potential.

Lets get down to it. As far as the overall story, it was good, wasn't epic like I was expecting but it was good. It made for a light read that was easy to follow and a good book to ease me out of the crazy crime novel I had finished before hand. There are some things that I wasn't too keen on. There was at times a lack of proper dialogue. Lulls you could sa

Dust to Blood is the first book in the Red Slaves series written by Tonya Cannariato and the first book that I have read by this author. So, I started reading book two before book one by mistake and I was like very confused about the story. This is the first time I have had the pleasure of reading anything by Tonya Cannariato. I have to say, it won’t be my last either. Not only was this a great novel, but it is the first of a new series and ends on one heck of a cliffhanger! I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one available! This book has a lot going on in it and really pulls you in from the get-go. I loved how connected I felt to the characters, and how real they were written. Dust to Blood is the first book in the Red Slaves Series by Tonya Cannariato. I was quite surprised that this story had so much going on in it, and not what I was expecting-but in a good way. This is a paranormal/fantasy with some action, mystery, drama, suspense, dragons, witches, the KGB, and a touch of romance. The story has surprises, twists and had me avidly reading right from the beginning. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Cannariato, and I can confidently say that it

I give Dust to Blood (Red Slaves Book 1) by Tonya Cannariato, 4 stars.

Anne is sent on a mission from her boss to Russia to investigate a weird occurrence. Something about orphaned men not remembering years of their lives. He looks for all the crazy stories and she has to to see what's going on. Besides, she's always wanted to go to Russia. But this takes her on a crazy ride involving strange men, ex-KGB who always seem to be after her, and things she cannot explain.

Red Slaves book one: Dust to Blood written by Tonya Cannariato. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this story. The characters were interesting and with so many that you never had a full moment it was also a small enough group that you didn’t get confused by who and what happened. A very interesting book! I really liked how detailed it was throughout and how it was very well explained. This was essential as some parts of the narrative are difficult to understand because the story is quite complex. I really liked how it was in first person narrative through Anne’s perspective as this gave a more personal insight into the story and meant that the reader was able to understand her character further. On a scale of 1-5, I have to rate Dust to Blood by Tonya Cannariato 4 stars. It was definitely a read well outside my comfort zone but a great read, nonetheless.

Tonya Cannariato does an excellent job at providing us with extraordinary detail, enough to take us on a paranormal journey with our main character, Anne. Anne Crosby has her hands full investigating 9 young men who suffer from amnesia, have dust for blood, and seem to have electrical powers when they touch anyone. Anne doesn't take too much stock in the paranormal reports. She is far too sensible for that. But these poor men are being tortured by KGB agents who want to harness these powers. Anne is challenged to look beyond the surface of everything and put her skepticism to the side in the face of irrefutable evidence of what can only be describ ...more
