Henry: "That's the sound of the future." Miles: "The future needs new strings." I found this novel--about Vietnam, about the rolling wake triggered by the collapse of the Sixties, about figured out what kind of man to be--very moving...almost like a picture of what could have happened to me had I been born fifteen or twenty years earlier. It's funny, too, and, in Miles Duckworth and "Policy Man" Monroe, offers some memorable characters.
