Ten months ago, wedding planner Kate was on the verge of starting her own HEA. Unfortunately, the day of the wedding, her fiance, Cooper, vanished. No, he wasn't abducted, there was no concern for foul play. He left willingly, leaving Kate to pick up the pieces. She's since worked toward assuring others she can still provide the happiest day of their lives, even though she didn't get hers. The upcoming celebrity wedding for the "it couple" is her way to ensure others begin relying on her services, without any doubt of her abilities, once again, therefore saving her business.
Scott, brother of Derek, the groom, is adamant that Derek is making the biggest mistake of his life. However, Derek wants to have the wedding at Scott's resort, Big Bear. Scott will do anything to get this wedding cancelled. He knows it may hurt his brother to hear the truth, but he'd rather he know now. When Kate calls regarding the event, his usual snarky attitude shines through. He didn't realize how stubborn, and gorgeous, Kate was though. When he first sees her, unaware of her identity, he immediately sees them getting to know one another.
Kate is all for that one on one interaction with the sexy man...until she learns he's the one that hung up on her, the person standing in her way of accomplishing the necessary goals for this wedding, which will in turn save Kate's business. Kate is determined to see this through, and maybe they can still have some fun together, but then Scott drops a bomb on her...the reason he's trying to stop the wedding.
What is Scott's secret? Who will tell Derek the truth? Will the wedding happen, saving Kate's company? Or will Scott get his way by saving his brother future heartache? How can Scott choose between saving Derek or Kate, albeit in different ways? Can the love Scott and Kate have found endure the outcome? Or will their time together just become a cherished memory?

On a purely personal note, I would've preferred Scott's secret was something else, though I admittedly had a feeling what it would be based upon the blurb. Also, Scott was a playboy, and no, that is not a "hero" in my opinion, and though I understand why he was written that way, heck, it's what got him in this situation to begin with, I just prefer the main male character to not be this type of man. (No, that isn't a spoiler. We learn pretty early on what happened.) Lastly, if the wedding goes through, and Scott and Kate end up together, Kate will forever have to see the other woman, knowing she slept with her man. I don't like that in books. It's way too icky and close too comfort for me. These points in no way detract from the author's talent, they're just my own personal preference and having them as a part of the book impacted my enjoyment. But please, read for yourself because not everyone has the same issues I do. With that being said, I will continue reading future books by her as they catch my attention.
