Another awesome read. This is a great book. I enjoyed reading it. The story is quite intriguing, it was hard to put down once I started reading it. Although that was kind of annoying because the book is very lengthy. ;) lol In any case I loved it and I'd be recommending it to anyone who enjoys historical fictions with mystery and romance involved.

Johanna has no idea that a simple trade she arranged with her niece's kidnappers will turn into so much more, all thanks to Connor. It was quite

I must say, this story kept me hooked from the beginning. It's not a short read, but you don't feel its length once the story starts to unfold. The intrigue mixed with suspense and who done it makes for quite a captivating read that makes time fly. I especially liked that the mystery stays a mystery until the very end :)

This is a really well thought out story-line delivered perfectly. My first Tara Kingston novel and I am impressed and looking forward to more Highland Hearts and reading some of

Author Tara Kingston puts together a well written feisty female heroine and a rough well meaning hero that makes this book work in a spectacular manner.

The MacMasters family is introduced in this first book to the series and as a reader I could see an huge opening created for their stories in future books. Each character had fully developed personalities that will hold the readers attention. This book includes a little mysticism to the plot that enriches the story rather than taking away from it

I’ve been on a Scottish Highlands kick recently in my choice of books and was looking for another good one. I found this on netgalley and received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. And, I can honestly say I liked it and will happily recommend it to others.

I enjoy that the book is fast paced with lots of action and adventure. I liked that it is set at the end of the 19th century, so you have lots of post industrial revolution thoughts on science, weapons, women, etc. I liked that the

I devoured The Highlander Who Loved Me. It was a book filled with clever, likeable characters who are caught up in an exciting adventure. Their drama was thrilling and I highly recommend checking this romance out!

When Johanna came to London to take care of her ailing sister and niece, she had no clue that she would end up being almost kidnapped by scoundrels and mixed up in a dangerous treasure hunt. However, she faces these challenges with strength and courage as well as a quick mind. And with

I received an advanced release copy of this book from Netgallery in exchange for a fair review. I enjoyed the action, adventure and Highland setting of The Highlander Who Loved Me. It is a book I will be recommending within my book club circles. However, I gave it three stars instead of four stars because the main character Johanna engaged in verbose inner dialogues which were at times distracting and slowed down the storyline.

Without giving any spoilers, this book is about an American author

I am a big fan of historical romance, and this book did not disappoint. I loved the dynamic between Johanna and Conner and also Conner and his siblings. Johanna's deep love for her niece is so touching, and I spent the whole book anticipating their reunion. I think this is a great start to a series that I can't wait to read more of. All of the characters have such depth and likability. I would love to read books featuring more of the MacMasters siblings, especially Harrison. I'd also love a ...more

Did I ever enjoy this Highland romance! Johanna, an American author of adventurous romances, sets out for Scotland to rescue her niece after her abduction by an unscrupulous character. The unscrupulous character believes that Johanna is in possession of a priceless artifact that gives the holder immense powers. While in Scotland, Johanna is set upon by brigands at the behest of the unscrupulous character but is herself rescued by our handsome hero, Connor. During the madcap evasions from the bad ...more
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Joanna's niece is in terrible danger and she will do anything to save her. Connor will do anything to stop the man that has her from recovering an important highland artifact. These two just drove me crazy. Joanna kept getting distracted in finding her niece and Connor was just annoying jerk for most of the book. I honestly did not want them together.

I was given a free copy of this book for my honest review. I loved the storyline and the different characters who all came together to make the book as good as it was.

I was a little shocked at how long the book was and thought maybe it could have been made into 2 books, but am now glad it was not.

I will definitely read more books by this author.

I love historical romance, especially with a Scottish theme so I expected that I would enjoy this and I wasn't disappointed. The characters were great in this one too! Johanna is fun and feisty heroine and Conner is the perfect Scottish hero.

A wonderful, heart-warming tale . I enjoyed reading from start to finish. From passionate, well-developed characters. Johanna is strong and determined with a truly kind heart. Connor MacMasters is a hottie scottish who is a little rough around the edges. Great complex story!

Johanna Templeton was given a rare 1st edition book from her brother-in-law. Now the evil man who has killed her brother in law is holding her beloved niece hostage. She must make an exchange, the book for her niece. She is about to make the exchange when handsome highlander, Conner MacMasters "rescues" her. He takes her back to his home where she meets the rest of the MacMasters clan and realizes she is among a special group of "undercover" crime-solvers. Like a great Sherlock Holmes clan. ...more

I LOVED Johanna and Connor's story!!

Johanna was a strong heroine just trying to save the only thing left of her sister, her niece. Connor was trying to duty his duty for his country, but his heart kept getting in the way!

A strong start to a new series and I can't wait to see what Kingston has in store for us!

unlike the darkest london series, which i am also currently reading, the highland hearts series does not deal with things that go bump in the night. at the very least there are no werewolves or vampires or demons to worry about. but in the highlander who loved me there are thieves and murderers and evil kidnappers who will think nothing of cutting short the lives of innocents. johanna templeton is desperate to save her niece, who has been taken and is being held hostage in exchange for a rare ...more
This historical novel takes place during the Victorian times and is set between London and the Highlands.

Connor comes from a very large family who have connections to the Crown. He doesn't stay in one place because of his line of work. This leaves little or no time for a permanent relationship.

Johanna is an American romance author, currently residing in London for family reasons. She finds herself embroiled in a kidnapping and perilous danger.

Johanna receives a note from the kidnapper,

I received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to enjoy this book with a female author in a time when woman should stay home and mind the children. A woman who was willing to throw caution to the wind to rescue a beloved niece and do anything it took to save the girl.

Instead we were given a mishmash of random characters who all seemed pulled from different plot points of different stories and thrown all together to try and continue in a plot they weren't

I am voluntarily submitting my honest review after receiving an advance copy of this book from NetGalley.

I enjoyed the drama and suspense of this rollicking adventure across the Highlands. It has all the right ingredients for a wonderful book--romance, intrigue, mystery, a dashing hero with a dark soul in need of the right woman, a beautiful heroine who makes our hero a better man, an innocent child in need of rescue, evil villains obsessed with greed and power, and even a long-standing score

This book was a good read. It involved romance and adventure. When Johanna's niece is kidnapped, she travels to the Highlands to save her. Her niece's father was murdered and sent Johanna a book and letters. She does not realize what she has in the beginning, but throughout the novel puts the pieces together. After all, she is a novelist. While meeting the villains, she runs into trouble. Connor MacMasters saves Johanna from
