I love these mysteries by Michael Kilian. They are fast moving, suspenseful and historically accurate. I am going to hate to run out of them.

Once again another great book. I am very sad that this series is now over due to the author passing away. I will read them again at some point.

Union spy Harrison Raines has returned home, ready to sit the rest of the Civil War out. But it's only August of 1862, and the battle is about to come to his Virginia plantation. Plus there's a murdered minister. Can Harrison figure out what is happening? Ironically, the battle slows down the book over all.

A very good well written story. Killian is no longer with us and I for one will miss Harry's adventures.

The plot is way too complex for its own good, but I am a great fan of the Civil War so I had fun soaking up the atmosphere.

Great

This tale is full of intrigue, mystery, romance, and war. The civil war setting brings that unhappy time to life.
