Once, Emi believed the heavenly gods were righteous and wise, while the earthly yokai spirits were bloodthirsty and evil. But with a traitorous deity poised to destroy her world, and the yokai standing as humanity's only defense, the lies of her upbringing have toppled to reveal a far more terrifying reality.

Despite the looming threat, Emi can't escape her greatest distrac

Legit one of the best series I have ever read to date. The characters, the plot, the action....I have zero complaints. This series deserves so much love.

This is book 3 of the trilogy, and it completely tore me apart. The Feels are THERE, the story is on point, and it left me feeling satisfied. The way it all ends makes sense, and the best part about it is that I didn't see it coming. I LOVED being surprised
you can read this review on my blog as well!

I've been holding off on this review for nearly a week now. It's not that I didn't like the book--I did, more than anything--it's just that... Reviewing it, or even trying, meant that it's actually over, as opposed to reading that final page. I don't know, maybe I'm being sentimental. But I just really love these characters. I know their story had to finish at some point. But it makes me incredibly sad that it finally is.

I don't want to give anything a

Original Post: Immortal Fire at FLYLēF (

I’VE BEEN WAITING with bated breath for the release of Immortal Fire, the riveting finale to the enchanting romantic trilogy Red Winter. Once again I am left with a complete sense of awe by Annette Marie’s boundless imagination. She spins a rare magic—spellbinding readers with unforgettable characters, forbidden romance, electrifying action, and unforeseen twists—placing her among my most coveted of authors in fantasy fiction.

She didn’t allow herself to consider that her life would end in less than two days. Any soldier stepping into combat expected that day to be his last. This was no different.

My reaction to this book is almost similar to that of the last book. I flew through it, enjoyed the action, the banter, the character growth, and really despised the romance, the absence of urban world, the lack of female frienships, the brush off of secondary characters aka Katsuo and seethed t the stupidity of these god

This is one of the best young adult series if you're looking for a light, entertaining fantasy adventure with believable elements of Japanese mythology and one of the sweetest romances ever.

On one hand, this series wasn't the best or most emotionally powerful thing I've ever read but on the other hand, it was a delightfully charming story of Japanese mythology, light adventure, romance, and fantasy. The series had me rapt with suspense, emotional from Emi's struggle with martyrdom, and heart ac

I'll probably be re-reading this after my exams though \_(ツ)_/
How can I begin with this trilogy???

This last book, Immortal fire, crushed my soul and put it back together in less than 400 pages. I love everything about this book, and this story, and these characters. Plus, it has one of the best romances I've ever read in my life,. Shiro and Emi are just my OTP right now, and I can't get over how amazing and stunning this series was.

Oh, my bleeding heart hurts. It feels like Susano himself has been wreaking havoc upon my soul. Again, I am so happy that I reread this series. This series is so special and beautiful.

I am still so in awe of Annette Marie's unmatched storytelling. She hits every spot of the story with such vigor. Her ideas are so creative and her follow through with the story is flawless. The plot of the story is interesting and gripping. The world-building is beautifu

5 Fantastic Stars! Now that’s how you end a series! Ms Marie wrapped it up perfectly! She tied up all the loose ends without it being too predictable or cheesy. There were losses and sacrifices, and I am not ashamed to admit that I shed a tear or two (both happy and sad).

The Immortal Fire is the third and final book in the Red Winter trilogy, a Japanese mythology fantasy series. And I would highly recommend the entire series! Too often I have become emotionally involved in a series for it to en

Immortal Fire was a book I was greedily anticipating and also dreading because I didn't want to see this series come to an end. Even though I am sad to see this series end, I thought the author did a great job wrapping up this story. Immortal Fire had a wonderful balance of romance, action, tension, and world building. This book was a book that sucked me in and didn't let me go until long after it ended.

Throughout this series, I really grew to like the main character, Emi. Emi developed into su

This has to be one of my favourite series ever. I wish more people knew about it becauase it truly is breathtaking.

Isanami is about to descend, and its up to Emi to stop her from destroying the Earth. As the day of Emi’s death comes closer, her love for Shiro only grows, will she be able to take the final beads of the Onenju off and release Shiro’s true form? It could mean winning the war, but losing Shiro for good.

I have grown to love Emi with all my heart. I have read countless books, and to t

In the final installment of the Red Winter trilogy Emi is closer than ever to the solstice when her immortal goddess Amaterasu will descend and take over her human body. She only has a few short weeks to find the last Kunitsukami and come up with a plan to protect the world from the immortal goddess Izanami and her powerful immortal brother Izanagi. How to end magnificently a series! I'm speechless guys, I don't even know what to say! This was one of the most beautiful trilogies I've EVER read! I want to thank you Annette marie, for restoring my confidence in my ability to get excited about fantasy , to dive into wonderful worlds and to fall in love again.
This series is great. Written with so much talent , skill and professionalism. There was nothing missing and there wasn't something that was too much. Everything was measured and precise. Romanticism was so lovely and moving , delicate yet passionet .

If I am being really honest, this book felt really really flat for me.

I blame my goddamned slump for this.

I kept putting this off till Thursday and then I realised that the deadline for the reviews was soon, so I had to stress read it. :(

I did enjoy it, don’t get me wrong, but I am a disappointed pile on the floor right now.

Also, the ARC didn’t have the illustrations which made me mad :(

This is the third and final book of the Red Winter Trilogy. I loved this series so much that even writing this final review is making me sad!

I'll let you in on a little secret - I received this book as an ARC from Xpresso Book Tours and I read it and I loved it. The unfortunate thing about the ARC though, was that because it was an advance copy not all of the artwork was complete... So I just HAD to purchase the published version. I plan on buying the complete set of these beautiful works of ar

In this book Emi and Shiro's adventures come to an end, and we can only hope it won't be disastrous. I want to write a proper review for this one day but for now I'll keep it short: it was hilarious, action-packed, heart-wrenching, emotional and swoony. I always feel like rereading Annette Maries' books a shortwhile after reading them so maybe I can describe it better by then. I just love this series so much ugh.

Every now and then, if you're lucky, you find an author who writes books you can't put down; who's books you never want to end. Annette Marie writes those kind of books for me. I've been lucky enough to receive copies or her ARCs for the entire Red Winter series, and each time I receive these books I jump into the world Marie has created and never want to leave.

It is over and I do not want to be over!

This last book in the Red Winter Trilogy was full of excitement and tears. I am now finished with this trilogy and part of me want more especially of Shiro.

The characters and their development was brilliant and I love all of them even the villain Izanami was likable and I loved that the author explained her reasons behind her actions. I liked the description of the nature scenes but also the battle scenes. Loved how the character matured along the way and

This is one of the most fun, engaging, exciting fantasy series I've read in a while. Filled with nuanced Japanese mythology to such a degree that makes for a wholly unique and fleshed out story.

Emi and Shiro's journey was everything I could have hoped for and more from this series. I am SO proud of Emi, her growth through these books was empowering and fantastic and especially in this final book I am so happy with everything. Yumei became even more lovable, that stubborn raven.
