We're told that the hero of this story is a beast, that he's ugly and how strangers stare at him with pity and disgust -- that he has a face even his own mother couldn't love. How Ford is treated will make you sad and angry.

I hate to use the word "beast" to describe a man with a beautiful soul and heart. This is the love story of Stella & Ford, co-workers at an downtown office. She's an Administrative Assistant and Ford is an ex-military, gentle giant (at 6'6") that mans the security desk.

Ford and Stella are one of the most adorable couples that I've ever had the pleasure of reading about.
I love the Beauty and the Beast theme. This one stood out from the other ones I've read, because Ford kept his interesting face, and didn't run to plastic surgery to make his outside match his inside. Stella fiercely defended Ford at every turn, and Ford was an absolute doll. He was hesitant to love Stella, which was understandable, but the two were perfect for each other. Steamy love scenes and

Wow...this was so good! I love the Beauty and the Beast trope, and this has got to be one of the best versions I've read!
When people are treated unfairly and judged on their appearance, they usually go one of two directions in life: they either internalize all of the negative and literally become monsters, or they find an inner strength to rise above the nastiness. The Beast in this book - Ford - rises above it all. His character was tough, but also very sweet and shy. And his new best

Broken is my favorite Elizabeth Kelly book. It is amazing, it is a one sitting read so be prepared. It is a beautiful story about the redemption of Ford Taylor from the evils of his family, rejection and pain based on his outer looks. It is a story about beauty and that not all beauty lies on the surface but comes from a loving soul.

Ford’s redemption comes in the form of a chubby redhead with a beautiful soul, Stella Johnson. When the elevator opens and Stella steps out seeing Ford sitting on

This book was beautiful. It was so sad how people treated Ford because of his physical appearance. His family was so awful to him too. It was really heartbreaking.

Ford's so sweet and sexy. I fell in love with him. Stella was feisty, loyal and caring. Loved them together!

Overall it was a great book!

A big thanks to someone in one of my GR groups for recommending this little gem. This was my first read by this author and I loved it! I was caught by the very first paragraph and could barely stand to put it down until I finished it. I pretty much inhaled this novel, to be honest. I really liked both main characters. Stella is kind, loyal, loving, and hilarious. Ford was gentle, sweet, insecure, and had so much love and affection to give. I loved that Stella was plus sized and while the author ...more

Let me start by saying that I am a huge Elizabeth Kelly fan and have loved all of her books but this is definitely in my top 3 of her books. Broken is the story of Ford and Stella. Ford is security guard and ex-marine that works in the same building as Stella. He is an incredibly quiet and shy introvert, and Stella is a very outgoing tall redhead who wants to be a photographer. They're romance is slow to start because Ford refuses to believe that a woman like Stella could be interested in him ...more

This book is amazing!

Alternately numerous and heartbreaking, this story will pull at every heartstrings you posses. The characters are complex but mostly compliment each other. Mostly, Ford is a lonely loner who pines for Stella. Stella is brash and takes a no-holds barred approach to life, like, if you don't get her, she's still okay. She has her own issues and insecurities but has learned to roll with the punches. The story flows easily and you get swept into the thrill of the chase, the art

Beautiful love story about Ford, a disfigured man born into a wealthy, perfect looking, hateful family and Stella, the feisty, full figured woman who shows Ford that he is absolutely loveable and worth loving.

Sort of a loose, modern day retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Ford has been told so many times that he’s a disgusting monster, that he is a reclusive, broken man and has no hopes for ever finding a close friend, never mind finding love. He’s had a crush on the beautiful Stella from afar

There's a lot to like here but some editing was needed. There were paragraph breaks in some weird spots that made me confused about who was talking. As other reviewers have said, the way Ford's family treated him just wasn't believable. But I was hooked from page one and didn't want to stop reading.

Where do I start because I loved some many things about this book, I absolutely adored Stella and wish I could be her or just her friend would work too, I loved how she was with Ford and didn’t let things or people detour her love for him, I loved her fiery temper and her loyalty, I loved how she didn’t back down when things got hard, She fought for what she wanted and wouldn’t let Ford push her away, Ford was so sweet and loving even after the terrible and awful childhood and adult life until ...more

Beauty and the beast type stories are my fave. This could be considered one, only by the fact that the hero is considered ugly. I love romance stories where one character is considered ugly/unattractive by most, but the love interest disagrees. Both characters are really lovable; I especially loved how Stella stood up for the hero repeatedly and tried really hard to break down his emotional walls. Ford was also a great character.
This is a very enjoyable, sweet, steamy read that I highly

I've been waiting to read this book since I read the Snipet of it in the back of the fairytale collection and I was not disappointed. I absolutely love this book. Stella is insane in a good way shes very overprotective of Ford and wont let anyone treat him poorly.Ford is misfigured and broken and his story was painful to read and I could feel his pain. By the time i was finished with this book I decided Ford is mine. He is sweet, kind, and caring his family didnt desever him and im glad he has ...more

I anticipated the release of this book after seeing it was happening. I wasn't disappointed. I read this entire book while on a flight. The characters kept me involved and invested. Ford touched my heart in a way that is unusual due to his experiences and how he was so blind to just how great he really was. He is such a good man while going through such a terrible experience with his family and many of society. If you enjoy romances that will grab you by your heart strings while melting your ...more

Alot actually Stella was amazing as the leading lady in the story she was funny, crazy, take no shit from no one kind of person and I absolutely loved her she wasnt afarid to go after what she wanted and could throw down when she had to all in her 5 inch heels she was perfect. Moving on to Ford, he is a broken man toren down by people who should be building him up. He was so sweet and sincere its hard not to fall in love with Ford. Overall the was a wonderful book ...more

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Another great one for Elizabeth Kelly! I loved Stella and Ford together. They had to go through a lot to fight for their love. The added family drama, friends and life in general made this a must read for me and I couldn't put it down! My heart went out to Ford and I wanted to shake him and say "You are awesome! We love you" So if you are looking for a emotional, feisty, and awesome read this is definitely for you. If you want to write ...more

I absolutely LOVED this book! These are two characters who aren't your typical hero and heroine. They are flawed on the outside or the world sees it that way but they are some of the best characters I've ever read. The love and devotion but also the brokenness is just so good and you will just fall deeply in love with these two. Ford is so heart breaking but so lovable at the same time. These two will have you smiling for days!

I loved reading broken. Stella and Ford are both characters that you fall in love with. I think Stella is the woman we wish we could be. She's feisty and sweet and able to look past the surface. Ford isn't perfect but he's perfect for her. I have already read the book a second time and recommend it to everyone. It is a refreshing change from some of the romances that I have read lately where the Hero is perfect and unbelievable. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Read this on recommendation from a fellow Goodreader.

Ford is so amazing! And Stella is awesome sauce. This tale of friendship and love is perfect. It was definitely hard to read sometimes seeing how Ford's family treated him, but the acceptance of Stella and her family meant the world.

Once Ford got started he definitely burned up the sheets. Stella and he were definitely a match made in Heaven.

I read this book for an honest review. Broken is an absolutely amazing book that is impossible to put down once it's been started. Ford and Stella are a couple with amazing chemistry and there story is one that I loved seeing play out. I loved how this book was not always predictable and things did not always play out the way I thought they would. I was on the edge of my seat. I will definately be rereading this book many times in the future.

I read the book for an honest review. This book was amazing the heroine in this book had fire, and a ton of spunk. While the hero was the one broken one for once. All the characters in this are amazing no matter how nasty they are. Elizabeth Kelly has written such a wonderful book I red the thing in 3 hrs. Totally worth checking it out.

This books was amazing!I loved Stella and how she fought for Ford and wouldn't take crap from anyone. This beautiful telling of a romance between a feisty woman and a man who has been condemned all his life gives you laughter, anger and big high five at the end! As always Elizabeth Kelly never disappoints when it comes to writing fabulous books!
