For Dalton Frobisher there's only ever been one guy she's truly loved. It's just unfortunate that he doesn't love her back, or rather can't.

Growing up around the person you believe should be yours is hard, seeing him with other girls is harder but watching him leave is torture. It's a constant state of grief because he's still in your life and you can't have him.

This is a very entertaining read and once I got past the rambling first person writing style I got into it and could not put it down. The hero though, ugh. He made one bad move after another in this and maybe that was the appeal. I kept waiting and hoping and waiting for him to do what Dalton (love her) needed him to do. Better late than never I guess. 4 stars
When you read a book that delivers all the emotions.

I loved Fostering love, a teen crush that leads to an adult romance & a second chance romance with angst, a Jelous ex, drama, danger, hotness, in a nut shell Fostering Love had it all.

About the plot:
Two teens living in foster care, part of a family but secretly in love each other & neither tells the other. Jonas goes off the rails battling with his emotions which turns to aggression & wrong company it's decided by his foster parents for him t

Jonas and Dolly were raised as siblings by the same foster parents however their feelings for each other were not those of brother and sister even if they never shared those feelings with each other. At the first opportunity Jonas left home and town to pursue a military career and put some distance between them.

Years later Jonas returns to town, but his homecoming did not get off to a great start as not only did he tell her he was back, but she sees him in a compromising position. Will they be a

Dalton and Jonas grew up together in the same foster home, with feelings being caught on her end. He never wasn’t shared on his end, so some years pass, and Dolly got hurt by his selfish actions, and decided to move on. He enraged me so much as I couldn’t get past all his selfishness to be honest. The way I saw it, Jonas never stopped making questionable douchey decisions, and so I never imprinted on him one bit. I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I’m completely over these so called heroes who ca ...more

Ok my first question to one of my book besties when I started this story was 'Why haven't I read this before now???

It is the first book I have read by this author and I could kick myself that it has taken so long for me to read it.

The story surrounds Dalton and Jonas who are taken in by the same foster parents. Dalton has had a crush on Jonas for what seems like forever but up until now it was never reciprocated. Fast forward a few years and the path to true love for this couple is any

Oh wow that was lovely!
What a truly fab story, yes I guessed bits that were going to happen throughout the story and usually that annoys me but this story was so well written and just so wonderful that it didn’t bother me in the slightest.
I love Dolly so much, she’s so well written that she jumps off the page into your mind. Jonas provides all the angst and alphaness (yes I know that’s not a word but it works for me lol) a girl could ask for.
Then there’s all the other characters, I actually thin

This book has me hooked, hookline and sinker at the very beginning. The characters were so relatable and the charectorization was incredible. It was so easy to connect with the characters she developed. John's almost made readers feel her character's emotions as you swam through the pages.
This was a very unique romance novel, which made it stand out against many. The two main characters face constant conflict due to the fact that they were foster siblings as children. The conflict stems from so

This is a new author for me and I'm excited for what is to come since reading Dalton and Jonas's book. It's emotional and gritty. You will find yourself on a roller coaster of emotions when it comes to these two characters.

Jonas and Dolly were put into the same foster home. Jonas was a rebellious kid and Dolly was head over heel in love with him but he went into the army and left Dolly sad. Now he is back and wants nothing to do with Dolly, but can two can think that way even though both are lying.

This story left me captivated until the end; the characters are so great that I wasn’t sure who I wanted to win the lady’s heart in the end. This story just got better and better, with a few unexpected twists. I can’t wait to read the books which follow in this series.

Took me a while to get into this book but that’s probably me I do like a dark read and this was not dark. That said I really enjoyed it as the story unfolded I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Review from jeannie zelos book reviews
Well, I found this book really slow to start, it seemed to me lots of information but going no where. Add in that I didn’t really like Dalton or Jonas at first and....but take heart – things speed up, and as I got to know them better I saw behind Dalton’s abrasive quirks and realised she used this kind of aggression as a defence mechanism. Same with Jonas, he seemed surly on the surface, but really it was just a quiet, think-be

Fostering Love is book #1 in the Soul Sisters Series by Victoria Johns; I was approached by Victoria herself and asked if I would be interested in reading and providing an honest review.

There are days when I wonder why I blog, I question if anyone reads what I say and then I think well do I care if anyone reads it lol.

Then I get approached by an author direct and asked if I would give them my opinion on their work an

Dalton "Dolly" and Jonas were both placed in foster care in the same home. Dolly was there first and then when she was a pre-teen, a rebellious teenage Jonas came to live with them. The foster parents were very loving and supportive and wanted these two foster children, and the younger twin boys that they had adopted, to consider themselves a family. They saw the attraction between Dolly and Jonas and did everything in their power to prevent it and contain it, even to encouraging Jonas to enlist ...more

Brilliant: drawn in from the start!

This is the first book from a very fine, up and coming author – You can tell this is her first piece of work, but only in the best way possible. It’s fresh, exciting and unique.

This book has you sucked in from the start. Its fast and too the point, and there is none of that desperate riffling through the first chapter with that urgent need to get the story moving that we have become accustomed to recently.

As the book goes on, you really begin to identify and fa

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK. Victoria Johns blew my socks off in the best way possible and if I didn't know this was her first novel, I wouldn't have guessed it. The chemistry between the characters is part of what draws me in initially and when Dalton (Dolly) and Jonas were in the same room together, you could almost feel sparks coming off the pages. These are two people that clearly are struggling with feelings on both ends - but for complicated reasons, can't act on them. The push and pull in the fi ...more

***I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.***

I will start out by saying that I enjoyed this book. I love a book where a broody moody male is in love with a sweet female..although in this case Dolly is not all that sweet. Don't get me wrong I loved her character, but at times she was down right a good way. I really enjoyed the relationships between all the characters in this story especially those of Dolly and her Soul Sisters. I even enjoyed the male friendships that D
FOSTERING LOVE is the story of rising above your past and putting aside convention for your happiness.

The story contains the interesting premise of foster brother and sister becoming lovers after years apart. The idea is new to me in a romance novel but I found it quite plausible in real life. The convention of being foster brother and sister would cause most people to consider it form of incest but since neither party is actually related by blood or adoption, it isn’t. There is the underlying

Dalton Frobisher, or Dolly to her friends, grew up in small town Hawkstown. At age 9, Dolly was welcomed into a foster home surrounded by loving foster parents, Barbara and Harrison, and foster brothers Jack, Jake, and Jonas. Growing up, Dolly idolized Jonas from afar. He was handsome, strong, and full of trouble. The perfect bad boy, who is also off limits. After Jonas left to the Navy, Dolly leaned on her three best friends Neely, Lottie, and Flo for fun and support. Now an up and coming photo ...more

Dolly and her Soul Sisters make for one fun read. Their antics make you laugh out while reading and I do love a book that can make me laugh. There are enough twists and turns to keep you interested and wanting more. This is a great little gem of a book. Chick lit lovers will enjoy the romance and the bond between the girls. The hot sex gives you just the right amount of hotness to get your blood pumping. Recommend this book to all romance lovers and to anyone else who wants to read a hot fun nov ...more
