FROM THOMAS FINCHAM, THE NEW VOICE IN THE CRIME AND SUSPENSE GENRE, COMES A HEROINE UNLIKE ANY IN FICTION.
Echo Rose is fearless. Feisty. Funny. She will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of the truth...

I enjoyed the twists and the fact that the police initially had two suicides that weren’t suicides. Well one was a suicide but the other was a murder. The people that caused the housing crisis across this nation never really were punished, and many people still are leery of the old American dream of home ownership. I know this story is fiction but I also know some facts from friends that worked in the financial industry. It was a really sad time and this story was well written building on that sad time.
Echo Rose now has a real job at Above the Fold newspaper. She had always wanted to be a reporter. Her ways of getting the information and facts that she needed were not always above board... to say the least. But... she always wanted to find the TRUTH! She takes you on quite an adventure in this book... again... it's difficult to put it down... enjoy this book... I did!
Wow Echo Rose gets her story yet again. Great writing full of mystery, I love trying to guess who it is and why. You do find out who and why before the end but it's still suspenseful. I would recommend this book to everyone.
This book had it all... Characters you care about, a good plot and it's a page turner. Very glad I discovered this series and looking forward to the next book.
I LIKED THIS ONE BETTER THAN THE 1ST BK, I STARTED OUT REALLY LIKING THIS BOOK BUT BY 65% IT WAS GETTING ON MY NERVES. THE SHERIFF DID AND SAID SOME REALLY STUPID THINGS, THEY STARTED TO ALL ACT MORE LIKE KEYSTONE COPS AS THE STORY PROGRESSED.
Ok, I love Mr. Fincham style of writing. Easy to follow. Creative scenarios. Pairing the detectives with a reporter. Interesting. They work well together. I'll keep reading until I figure out what is causing my hesitation to be completely enthusiastic about this series.
I like this writer. His characters are very vivid and the flow is great and realistic! Echo Rose is like all the other characters she is very smart and quick. Can’t wait till the next book of this series!
An unvarnished, raw look at the devastation the 2008 financial crisis caused as a dissection in microcosm of the effects on a single family’s dissolution after the patriarch’s suicide.
The basic story was interesting and kept my interest, and the characters are engaging. However, the writing is quite stiff, which for me is distracting.
I.have recently read many books by this author and each and every one is a masterpiece! The characters are a joy and the plots are beautifully crafted!
There are three books in this series. A boxed set, in fact. I read them out of sequence, but it didn't matter.
It is, I think, a particular skill for a writer to pen 2 or more novels as a set and have them operate as stand alone stories as well. Mr Fincham has managed that with the Echo Rose Books. I love them all.
Characters are well defined, and not only interesting, but also quite captivating. Even the bad guys have some good in them. And you can see that.
There were some very cool little descriptive passages. For example: "The house across the street was painted teal. It used to be dark green. The fence was white. It used to be light brown. The garden had sunflowers. It used to have roses." Love it!!!
The plot moved along at a fast clip and was not overburdened with twists and turns often designed to show off some supposed skill in convolution by the author, rather than entertaining the reader. It is not so much fun if you have to flip back to get some previous context so that you can understand a piece you have just read. None of that with Tattoo. Good work all around. Thanks and I am looking forward to a number 4.
The reading just goes what could happen by people in power getting carried away with greed and hunger for more money. Hope certain people don't read this book and get ideas.
