Crystals ~ The Golden Science Close-Up Series, by Robert A. Bell and illustrated by Paul Lopez has been in my classroom libraries as part of my science books for children to explore.

I've used it with presenting science lessons many times and showing examples of many of the crystals I have collected to use in expanding hands-on science lessons. With younger children I use it as a book that children can request to be read to them and for older children it is on a table with my examples of the pictures in the book. Both give children hands on experience in learning about geology.
