Typical of British horse racing writing of the 90s: no real substance, nothing you can 'easily' put into practice. (The only British author from this period that I could recommend would be Nick Mordin and even his books are heavily influenced by the American writers.)

Still a comfortable, cosy read for a winter's afternoon.
