If you want to know about the events of August 19th, 1991 - this is THE book to get, it has everybody's accounts of what happened when 8 men decided to take over the Soviet Union and arrest Gorbachev. The problem is, it pretty much ends in 1991, so the rest of the story and the details that came out after that is not known. As such it can seem a praise of new democracy that perhaps didn't happen.
