Wow what an ending to an incredible series. I kind of wish it was going to be continued but I guess all good things must end eventually. This series and this book is really well written and I just could not put it down. The Remnant Series is definitely worth your time.

It has everything a solar flare, a nuclear bomb, people doing what they want when they want as there is no law and of course total disregard for mankind. It is a time when nothing works. No phones, No computers No nothing. There is

Light of Dawn was a great conclusion to this dystopian series! I enjoyed reconnecting with these characters again and seeing how they had continued to adapt to the new reality that they all lived in.

This story had many situations in it that required the characters to decide what the right thing to do was. I appreciated that these characters were better prepared to make these decisions as they faced danger during their travels. They had developed a necessary awareness and understanding of how the

This third book in the Remnant series is a thriller and a chiller! And definitely not a standalone read. We've collected too many characters and plot twists along the way to make it possible to jump in and start reading in this final installment. But if you have been following Max and Shelby's hair-raising adventures you will be excited to dive into Light of Dawn. An apt title, by the way, as that is what Chapman offers us -- the glimmer of light in a darkly terrifying new world. And she has a s ...more

This book is so real and in a way a scary reality, a solar flare, a nuclear bomb, lawlessness, and complete disregard for mankind.
The author has us thinking about how we would survive, what we all take for granted, all gone, no more picking up you phone and calling or looking for information, nothing works, and if it did there is nothing to hook up to.
Why does disaster bring out the worse in some people, there is so much unnecessary bloodshed, and for what? When we travel to find the Government

Light of Dawn is the last story in the Remnant Trilogy. Adventure and turmoil continue as the characters fight for survival. Each page is filled with excitement and suspense. This story made me wonder about this world and what would we do if this situation happened. I cheered for the characters, worried for them and cried for them. A thrilling read. I received a copy of this book from the author and Harvest House Publishers and this is my personal honest opinion.

I'm sad to see this series end. It's been a fascinating look at what could happen if a solar flare totally wiped out all modern technology. It's scary to think of the events that happen in the book really happening, but it's a great reminder to be prepared and to always lean on God.

I really appreciated the “Excerpts from Shelby's Journal” at the beginning. It bridged the gap between the end of Raging Storm (book two) and beginning of this one really well.

“We're going to weather this. Together we

Tension, Friendship, Hope. That's what Light of Dawn provides in this epic conclusion of the brilliant series from Chapman. "When you're completely lost, when you have no idea what comes next or why things are happening, faith is what gets you through. Even if you're not sure what you believe, you keep doing the things you know in your heart are the right things. That is faith, Carter. It's not the absence of questions. It's continuing, day in and day out, in spite of those questions."

Loved how

LIGHT OF DAWN (BOOK 3 ) THE REMNANT SERIES

Light of Dawn is the third and final book in Vannetta Chapman's The Remnant Series. The first and second books are Deep Shadows and Raging Storm, respectfully.

It has been almost nine months since the devastating solar flare that changed life, as people once knew it. Food and medical supplies are still scarce and people must depend on their instincts in order to survive. There is also no law to punish those who have broken the law by killing and stealing.

The third and final installment, Light of Dawn in Vannetta Chapmans Remnant series, had me captivated from page 1. Our band of family and friends from Abney Texas return to help find the government that seems to be MIA in the US. A lot has happened since the solar flare took away life and law as we know it. The survivors are living and learning the way their ancestors did. Some are better at it than others.

Nine months after the solar flare, life at High Fields Ranch is routine considering the ci

Light of Dawn is book three and the final installment in The Remnant series by Vannetta Chapman. Wow and WOW, what a series Ms chapman has weaved together. She has did a fantastic job on her research for this series. I have loved all three of these books. They do need to be read in order. The third book in The Remnant Series wraps up a course of necessary actions for survival in the throes of a solar flare. The entire electrical grid has been destroyed, leaving people helpless and hopeless. Survival of the fittest can only be accomplished by resourceful and well developed plans of action.

This last book in the series is as powerful as the previous stories leading up to this compelling and complex way of life in a whole new world. Adapting to life after the flare is portrayed reali

Light of Dawn is book 3 and the final book in The Remnant series. Each of the books in this series has kept me up late reading. The trials the group suffered from the beginning continued with this book. This book as in the others in the series causes one to think what you would do if the power grid went out. Could you trust your neighbors enough to band together for the good? Along the way the group of people met good people and not so good people. I liked the ending but it kind of left you wond ...more

Light of Dawn by Vannetta Chapman is the third (and the last) book in The Remnant series. Shelby Sparks along with her son, Carter are living at High Fields owned by Max Berkman's parents. Carter slowly recovered from his severe injuries, and they had won the war against the Cavanaughs. Life in a post flare world is not easy, and they live a day to day existence. Max would like his relationship with Shelby to evolve, but she is not ready to let him in. Shelby is concerned about finding more insu ...more

I haven't read anything by Vanetta Chapman, but the idea of what would happen when the power went out intrigued me. Plus, I have heard rave reviews about this series. The writing was top notch with enough details for me to visualize the setting and the emotions of the characters. As for Shelby and Max, it was nice to see how much faith they had in each other and the strength they had to try to find the Remnant again. The romance between the two came to a head near the end of the novel, and will ...more

It is no secret that Vannetta is one of my all time favorite authors!! Not one of her books has ever disappointed me! This newest book in her Remnant Trilogy , the third and last, is simply marvellous!! Never would I have guessed that I would be reading Dystopian Fiction and loving every moment!! I resisted reading this genre for a very long time, however, when a well known popular author (who I just happen to highly respect and love) , begins a new series, of course, I just had to try it out!!

Strong characters, big decisions and a great wrap-up!

This trilogy was definitely a favorite of mine and probably the most thought-provoking series I've read. It will stick with me for a long time.

Awesome - loved it!

First off, a disclaimer before you begin this book...if you have not read the novels preceding this one, you will find yourself struggling to make sense of what is going on. I had to go back and read the premise to this one to gain an understanding of what is happening since the book opens up with journal entries from one of the characters in the book. Light of Dawn is the third novel in the Remnant Series by Vannetta Chapman, and begins around the premise that long ago, people wondered what wou ...more

My expectations for this final volume of the Remnant series were high - but once again, Vannetta Chapman has exceeded them. The Light of Dawn is satisfying on both emotional and practical levels as a tight band of friends seeks security and direction in a world spinning out of control after a solar flare.

"We are going to weather this. Together, we will find a way." So opens the excerpts from Shelby Sparks' journal, and Georgia's wise words to her are a prophecy fulfilled within the pages of this

This was a very satisfying end to the Remnant Trilogy. While I felt there were fewer "edge-of-your-seat" moments, it still keept me engaged, and I tried to read it every chance I got. While as in her other books, some of the resolutions came a bit too easy, which is a small price to pay for a pleasant, easy read. I loved how Christian themes were laced throughout the story, without hitting you over the head with them. She tackled the question that each Christian is faced with from time to time: ...more

Light Of Dawn is book 3, the last of the Remnant series. I don’t think this works well as a standalone; I recommend reading Deep Shadows and then Raging Storm before starting this one. Because of the length of time between books, and the many books I read between them, some of the details of what went before were a bit fuzzy in my memory. I would have been lost without the other two, and I really think you need them to fully appreciate this book.

This book is the last story in The Remnant series. I had not read the others that came before it, but I feel like it was entirely readable and understandable without reading the previous books. It grabbed me from the opening lines of Shelby’s journal. A solar flare has changed the world of technology and even electricity to a thing of the past. I have really enjoyed reading this series and this book was just as good. I would find it hard to go through what Shelby, Carter, and Max have been going through and then to leave what is comfortable to try to find what is needed would be even worse. This book is a real page turner and will pull you in from the beginning.
