This book completely broke my heart, and then put it back together again. Not Another One Hit Wonder is a second-chance love story between two men who should’ve found love the first time around, but were too stubborn and naive to know any better.

Jaime and Derek drifted apart when they were younger, both still very much in love but unwilling to put in the communication required to make it work after Derek ran off to chase his dreams. Jaime settled down in his home town and took over his family bu

ugh! main problem with this story: sudden ending. It just felt like a lot was left unresolved. The story spends a lot of time on Jaime's going back and forth about how he shouldn't do something but admitting he is going to do it anyway. That drove me mad, grow a backbone then! Plus Jaime is just plain hurtful to Derek at one point and it's his own doing for never letting him speak. So I guess in the end, low rating because I disliked Jaime and because things don't feel settles for the guys at th ...more

The general premise of Not Another One Hit Wonder, as offered up in the blurb, was super enticing. Set in Virginia — check, because I'm a Virginian. MC1 a funeral director — check, because I’m bizarrely fascinated. MC2 a rock star — check, for obvious reasons. Precocious child — mmm, okay, I can play along. Second Chance Romance — YOU BETCHA.

I’m happy to state that I liked my first read by J.M. Sn

From that review: Not Another One Hit Wonder by J.M Snyder is a warmhearted, wonderful romance. A lovely second chance at love story, it picks up twenty years later in the lives of Jamie Eckert and Derek Duran, whose lives have taken very different paths than the ones they had envisioned as young men together.

Snyder is able to capture just the right amounts of nostalgia and

Twenty years later and a second chance at love, this story is full of strong love, misunderstanding, miscommunication and a possible happily every after. Best friends all through school turn into so much more when Derek and Jamie admit feelings for each other. Jamie has always known he will take over the family funeral home business and when Derek's mother passes away he knows after twenty years Derek is finally coming home. Derek took off after high school to play music and ended up with a numb ...more

I enjoyed this heart warming love story. Fans who believe in second chances, will smile from this tale. This book explain how life experiences shaped a couple lives with good and bad choices. The little lady stole the book. Sometimes readers needs sweet HEA.

Not the best from Snyder

I have been a fan for many years but this is not her best work. That being said, any story written by Ms. Snyder is worth a read.

It was a sweet little story. A few grammar errors here and there (Just a few half-typed words), but it wasn't a major issue.

3.5 Stars ~ Most of the books I have read recently have either had high tension, lots of angst, are fast paced, or are a combination of the three, so I found myself enjoying the slow and steady pacing of the sweet second chance romance that Not Another One Hit Wonder provided me.

The story, told in first person present from Jaime’s perspective, starts off with receiving the call that brings Derek back to his life. As often happens, his memories start returning, both the good and bad. It is clear

Not Another One Hit Wonder is a feel-good, second chance story! Jamie and Derek were so easy to fall in love with, as was their story to find happiness together. I enjoyed this book and loved the happy feeling I was left with after finishing.

Jamie and Derek became best friends as kids and as teens they were still best friends, but also became something more. They fell in love with each other and in Jamie’s mind were meant to be together forever, but Jamie wanted to become something big an

Jamie and Derek met in junior high school, and thanks to Derek’s persistence became best friends and remained that way through graduation. In their high school years, they both took a chance in admitting their attraction and feelings for the other, and their friendship grew to love. Both boys planned to have a future together. Jamie went to college so

This is the first I've read by this author. An it will not be the last. It's a short story that has everything.

Jaime and Derek were best friends. Then in high school it turned into something so much more.

Jaime has been trained to take over the family business since he was a little boy. After his father passes he takes over the funeral home. He's also taking care of his little girl so his life is a little complicated. Then one text changes everything. See twenty years ago Derek left him to live

I very nice second chance romance. This is the first book I've read from Snyder and I really enjoyed it, but an epilogue with more HEA would have just finished it off for me.

An all round good read with likeable characters and a flowing story.
