In The Heir (Westerly Billionaire #1) by Ruth Cardello
There are three lessons that my Grandmother taught me. A person is never too old to stop learning. It's not enough to crave or receive love, you must give love in return and lead by example. She was a wise woman, who was not afraid to practice what she preached. Until the day she died, she led by example in all she did. Including owning up to her mistakes. I still miss her, but carry all she taught me within my heart. The Westerly clan cou

Ruth Cardello did it again and came up with a book where the reader will have an absolute enjoyable ride.

In the Heir is book one in Ruth Cardello's new series (Westerly Billionaire).
The story opens to Delinda Westerly who decided she had enough of her grandchildren's neglect and came up with a plan that would bring them together.

It's been years since the divorce that nearly destroyed her son and his kids and it was time to intervene.
Believing that love heals all wounds Delinda decided t

It's been ages since I've read a story by Ruth Cardello. I've missed her sweet stories that get me super addicted. I'm already obsessed with the Westerly's and their family drama and their series has just begun. Let me tell you, the rich have drama like you wouldn't believe! In The Heir was the story of Alisha and Spencer's engagement until the groom's brother steals her away. Well not really, since it was a fake engagement anyways to help Spencer earn his inheritance. Sparks are flying between ...more

I was given this ARC by NetGalley as an exchange for an honest review.

Alisha is such a nice person that she is willing to put aside her happiness to help the Westerly's. Pretending to be Spencer's fake fiancé was a good idea in theory but once Alisha met Brett all bets were off. The instant attraction between Brett and Alisha was fun to read specially when they both knew they couldn't do anything about it without hurting the family. The more time they spend together the more they realize that th

This was my first Ruth Cardello book and may I say it was a terrific choice. She has written an awesome storyline with characters that will have you laughing, hurting right along with them, sighing and last but not least thinking OMG do people really act that way!

When the matriarch of the family, Delinda, gets her feelings hurt because the grandkids don’t show up for her 80th birthday, she comes up with a plan to get them back into her life. Sadly the plan backfires but it does set off a whirlw

When a teaser shared a month ago pull you into wanting that book, you have very high hopes. Well Ruth did not disappoint me and she basically through me for a loop with some of the events that took place. Brett, Alisha, Spencer triangle was just wow and throw in doubt, betrayal, and misplaced feeling you have a masterpiece on your hands.

She always does this and suck me in until there is nowhere to go. I am a sitting duck until book 2 but know I am an addict for yet another Ruth creation.

The Westerly family have skeletons in their closet like most families, being powerful, rich, and of social standing doesn't change that. Brett, the oldest sibling has modelled himself on his father, followed his lead, taken over the family company, won at any cost. Bretts parents divorce split the siblings at a young age, Brett and brother stayed with their father, two sisters and brother went with his mother. His grandmother has a notion to bring her dysfunctional family together with the power ...more

If you are a fan of Ruth Cardello, or even if you are new to her, you will be delighted to know she has a new series out. In The Heir is the first book in her Westerly Billionaire Series. There are some minor characters from her Andrades series. The uncles are back and helping the Matriarch of the Westerly family bring their divided family together again. With the theory of, "Love Conquers All." She has put a mandate that in order to receive an early inheritance, they must be married.

However, this cost this father his family and Brett has come to realize he doesn’t want this same life for himself. I'm always excited to see a new book released by Ruth Cardello....and it was no different when I saw this upcoming book. A new set of brothers and sisters to read about, and I can't wait to see each one fall.
If you are upset that this book has nothing to do with the Andandre's then you will be pleasantly surprised to know that some of them make cameos throughout the book.

Brett at first glance is an asshole but he quickly proves that theory about him wrong. Alisha on the other hand is the polar

Thank you, Montlake Romance!

This is my first book by this author, and I can see why she's been successfully publishing contemporary romance books for a while. When the romance finally kicked in, the chemistry between Brett and Alisha made this a hot and enjoyable read.

In the Heir is the first title in the author’s new series about a rich family, the Westerly, and the women (and I’m guessing men, too, since there are also sisters involved) who fall

Ok it just might be the end of the school year blues, but I just did not get into this book. The second in a row.

To me it started off ok. Then it turned into one unbelievable thing after another.
1. After many years of not talking the siblings now are close and call each other all the time.
2. Brett changes his tune after one meeting with Alisha and he is instantly a better man
3. Alisha scarafices what she wants because her friend is more important then her even when they treat her like crap. Doo

I haven't read a book by Ruth that I didn't totally fall in love with. This is no different. The Westerley's are one dysfunctional family. But they all have goodness in their hearts! Brett is no exception. He tries to do right by everyone. That's why he doesn't go after Alisha at 1st. Alisha is in a terrible bind but loyalty trumps everything, even her own happiness. I love it when they finally realize nothing stands in their way, Their love was worth waiting for. I can't wait to read the contin ...more

Another awesome story from Ruth Cardello. It's going to be so much fun to watch the divided Westerly clan work through their anger, the lies they've been told and the mistakes of the elders in their family. The family split by divorce slowly learns that all is not ever what it seems. I'm so looking forward to all the Westerly books. Ruth is so good a weaving a story that pulls you in and makes you feel all the feels of the characters which are developed so well you feel like you've known them in ...more

I have loved the meddling ways of Victor and Alessandro Andrade, in Ruth's other series. So, I was very happy to see them passing on this tradition to the Westerly family. Delinda is a character that is hard to love, due to her sharp tongue and frosty demeanor. Her plan to bring her family back together by marrying off her grandchildren is crazy, but it's definitely going to be fun to read. I really enjoyed Brett and Alisha's story. He fits the mold of the workaholic, arrogant billionaire to a T ...more

Well, Ruth Cardello has hit it out of the park again. In The Heir is the first book of her Westerly Billionaire series. And, oh boy, was it good! Brett Westerly reminds me of my first book boyfriend, Dominic Corisi. He's intelligent, cocky, and has just the right amount of alpha male personality that will have you wanting to drop to your knees in front of him. I would DEFINITELY recommend this book to anyone who's in lust with billionaires!!

This was not what I expected. I really like Brett, Spencer and Alisha's characters. Knowing that someone was going to be hurt so two of them can find love must have been hard to write. My heart hurt for Spencer, and hopes that he us able to find love too. But on a happy note, Brett and Alisha are more alike than either knew. Both are helpful and caring without others knowing that a grand gesture was even made. Neither wanted to hurt anyone and was welling to let their happily ever after go if th ...more

I give In the Heir 5 stars for making me feel good. My heart felt heavy when grandma's birthday came and went with not a visit. I loved the dynamics of this family and have a special place in my heart for each of them but most of all for Brett and Alisha. I felt so much joy when finally they got their HEA.

Ruth Cardello is a new author to me and I'm sure I'll read more of her books. I enjoy the twists in her plot, her writing is great, and she used a strong woman to tame her alpha male. Very well

Not sure what to say about this book except that, I was swept away by this story and taken on a wonderful ride of emotions. Brett Westerly is a billionaire without a life, work and success is all that concern him. Alisha Coventry is a strong, independent women who doesn't take any bull from anyone. These two definitely see life differently but are able to open one anothers eyes to all the possibilities that life can have. This story is entrancing, sexy and filled with heart! I LOVED it!

Everyone expect the main two characters (and Delinda) were horrible and selfish people. So much, that I really don't care for them to find their HEAs.

And the story is VERY wordy!!!! I'm a huge fan of dialogue and found it lacking here. Strip all the "in thought" moments, make Spenc

Well I definitely enjoyed this one. I want to start off the review by saying that. I enjoyed both of the main characters and while I had moments where I didn't love some of the secondary characters, the main characters were definitely what made the story for me.

I enjoyed this book, once I got about 20% into it. I thought a lot of the opening, the dislike of Brett with his other family members and the reason Alisha was involved in a fake engagement were handled rather quickly and in more of a "tell the reader how they should feel" instead of letting the reader make the discovery on their own.

This is not uncommon in the first in a series. Once we got to the relationship with Brett and Alisha, the

I’ve never met a Ruth Cardello series I didn’t love! And the Westerly Billionaire series isn’t any different.
Alisha is helping out her good friend Spencer by agreeing to marry him so that he can access his trust fund. His grandmother put a condition on it that they each had to marry to receive their trust fund early. She loves Spencer (as a friend) and his family and so she agrees. Then she meets Spencer’s distant brother Brett…
