Understanding the Life of Point Loma

Rate this book
Understanding the Life of Point Loma is an easy-to-read overview of the coastal sage scrub ecosystem and nearshore marine environment of the Point Loma peninsula. The authors who are experts in their fields describe the ecosystems, the biodiversity of the plant and animal communities, and the intersependence of the populations of those communities. Throughout the book, the importance of preserving these precious and diminishing natural resources is stressed. Well illustrated, this book is a "must read" for everyone interested in the fascinating and rare natural resources of Point Loma. --- from book's back cover

Excellent account of the natural history of Point Loma and the natural resources or the area. I loved that it focused on natural history and impacts as opposed to just the history of the area. Purchased in the visitor center of Cabrillo National Monument.

Interesting look at the natural elements of Point Loma, the vegetation, the animals, the marine life, the history. It is not a page turner, but it is very informative.
