School book, what more can I say. There is actually some o.k. short stories in here.

If I could leave negative stars I would. While I understand this is a college text book and therefore boring, the writer has a very interesting way of being able to say the exact same thing over and over again in slightly different wording. I feel like I would throw half of this book away and it wouldn't change a thing I would learn.

My new nifty freshman comp book. It seems better than most, actually. The readings are mostly interesting and pretty diverse, which is nice. And I like all the attention it puts on drafting and thesis construction. The whole theme here seems to be writing from/about the self/personal experience--this always gets me better essays to read over any random theme I can assign. But ultimately, it doesn't matter how much I like the book if my students hate it. I'll do a re-review at the end of the semester
