This short story is so full of love and compassion that my heart felt quite full after reading it. Vivi Holt has captured an often forgotten thing, that of caring for one's fellow man, woman and child.
In the story Margaret, who is a single lady and the town's school teacher meets up with Heath, a rancher. The attraction for each other is there from the beginning but neither of them act on it.
Margaret takes a family of orphaned children into her home and into her heart rather than see them split

What a heartwarming listen this book is! Just in time for the holiday season, Paul Curtis beautifully narrates Season of Love by Vivi Holt. Margaret(Meg) is Cutter Creek's school teacher. When 6 orphaned children come to town and begin to cause a little ruckus, she decides to take in all 6 and give them stability. She can't do it alone, and local bachelor Heath Moore comes to help her out. This book is my favorite of the series. It may be short, but it's full of tragedy, grief, love and happines ...more

Meg and Heath ❤️

Meg is a newcomer to Cutter's Creek and the schoolteacher. Heath is a successful rancher, who had previously- and unsuccessfully - asked Charlotte to marry him.

In the meantime, a wagon train that had a family with six children encountered two disasters. Both parents ended up dead, and the children were left on their own. They ended up in Cutter's Creek where six different families took one child apiece. Sadly, that didn't go over well for the kids.

Meg felt in her heart that she

This is the 11th book of Cutter's Creek series Season of Love. It is a heatwarming story of 6 orphans who lose their parents. A loving schoolteacher takes them in to raise them so they can be together. MaryBeth the eldest is very disallusioned with people because of her hard experiences! The author makes you feel like you are there. My sympathy was with the children as I read. The good news is GOD worked it out for her also to have a loving husband when she trusted GOD to provide for her & the c ...more

Six orphans in need of a home and a single school teacher decides to step in to keep the sibling together. It was such a sweet story and a perfect Christmas time read. This was simply another wonderful and clean story by Vivi Holt. It is a shorter story at about 2 1/2 hours in length which in perfect for an evening of wrapping gifts or a car trip. The narrator did a great job and he was a pleasure to listen to.

I was gifted a free copy of this audiobook from the author. My review is offered volu

Alone No More

The cruelties of life have stripped her of a family; but can she take on the burden of the remnants of another family--of orphan children? Characters from previous novels reprise roles but any overlapping actions are fully explained, allowing this tale to stand on its own. Narrator Paul Curtis lends his talents to the characters as the new teacher struggles to make her way. Author Vivi Holt once more shows the exigencies of prairie travel and homesteading inflicting their hardships

I purchased the short novella Cutter's Creek Book 11:Season of Love by Vivi Holt and this review was given freely.
Love brings lonely school teacher Meg, rancher Heath and 6 orphans together at Christmas time. This is a sweet and fast paced romance highlighting the potential trials and injuries a new mother of six children could experience in the pioneer west as they learn to accept, trust and love her.

Margaret and Heath's story is heartwarming. They are both great characters. Margaret is a strong woman, and Heath is a great man, protective with Margaret and the orphans. I love the orphans, of course! This is a sweet short story, and the perfect listen for Christmas! Paul Curtis has done a great job with the narration, and all characters. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

A great story

A great Christmas story about an act of compassion and charity that becomes a great blessing for all involved. Heath and Megan were great characters, but the one I greatly enjoyed was Mary Beth. The situation with the orphans probably happened more than we like to think about, and the conclusion was heartwarming.

The best kind of Christmas Story

I loved the love that this story shows. Orphans alone and separated from each other are taken in by the school marm but will they allow themselves to come together as a family? This is a perfect read for a couple quiet hours away from the hustle and bustle of the hectic Christmas season.

This story was a novella, set in the good ole days when people were traveling West in search of goal and a brighter future. Yes, things might have been hard for some, as they picked up everything they owned in order to seek out a different life; however, the prospect of making something better for their families and future family was to urgent not to make the decision to move.

Sweet Romantic Frontier Christmas

Vivi Holt does not disappoint with this sweet story of six orphans from a wagon train who change the lonely lives of a lonely rancher and a young school teacher. Holt fans will enjoy the good humor, Christian content, and homespun setting as well as a romance that could only end in HEA.

A rather amazing story of what pioneers must have gone through. The idea of 6 orphaned children negotiating the wilderness in mind boggling.
This is a story of faith and belief in the ties of family, and how one person can make a difference.

6 Orphans needed a home

Their parents died out on the prairie and they made it to Cutters Creek on their own. They thought they didn't need anyone as long as they could stay together. But God works in mysterious ways to draw people together.

This story was fun. Margaret is a do-gooder with a heart filled with love. She opens Heath's heart by taking in children the town shuffles from home to home, because they really don't want them. You'll enjoy the story and maybe you'll find a little Christmas Spirit along the way.

Loved it!

Tragedy turned to happiness. Not many would take six orphans to raise. But with a loving heart and a lot of determination that's just what a single Margaret Hutchins did. And life for all of them got so much better.

A surprisingly wonderful Christmas story that is unlike anything else that I’ve read before. The characters are each relevant to the theme that we need to listen to God’s voice and open our hearts to what is possible.

I thought this was an ok little story. The six children needed someone to really care for them and Meg did that. Love won over the heart of Mary Beth the oldest child.
This one tugged at my heart strings. It makes me want to read more from this author and more from The Cutter Creek Series.
