actually liked how this Yaoi manga gave the seme and uke a chance to have a heart to heart conversation. Normally in some Yaoi manga, you see the seme and uke going straight into "it" and not bother getting to know each other. In this one, you do. Basically the uke is going through an abusive relationship and the seme is pretty much there to support him by telling him to break up with the guy who is abusing him. I'm also glad the seme wasn't pushy towards the uke, he was pretty laid but you could see that he was obviously more concerned for the ukes safety. As a reader, it is sad to see someone like the uke go through domestic abuse and feel that he should cling onto that person for the sake of their desire. It is even upsetting that this type of abuse unfortunately happens in real life.
If you have been affected by domestic abuse in your life please please go to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_... . Remember no one should be treated like dirt for someones sick actions!!!
The friend line—the line that separates platonic and romantic relationships. It's up to you whether to cross or not to cross it. And there are endless factors as to why people drew that line. Like the common one where relationship ends, but friendship lasts. As is weaved in this series, making it a bit angsty.
It must be nice to find an everlasting kind of love with a friend you are willing to spend your life with. Isn't that the right kind of love? I'm jealous.
I love this series. It's screaming at you like, domestic violence is domestic violence—it doesn't matter what gender you are, it's violence.
I swear I cried when Fukami made Miyamori realize that it's not right to accept violence just because he's gay, like it's a price to pay. But I cried, even more, when Miya thought like it's because he's gay that he accepts it, after all, being one, it's hard to find a partner, and it's so lonely to be alone.
I mean, gawd, it perfectly portrayed the dark angle of homosexual relationships and homosexuality itself that we rarely see. Definitely a lowkey eye-opener. I freaking love the content so much!
But, I just don't have the balls to make it a 5-star because I wanted to see Miyamori standing up for himself. Instead, we only see him with another bruise on his wrist. Although he did grow and gained a new perspective, I guess my soul just wanted the harder kick so I can finally rest the case. I guess I just want to shed those last tears before leaving this great series.
I'm loving Ayu Sakamoto, I swear. She never disappoints! This is like the fourth book I read from her and not once did I find her work meh. I think I may have a new favorite boys' love author! And her arts are swoon-worthy too!
one of the best yaoi I've ever read! it's so wholesome and talks about domestic abuse in the gay community.. One of the few yaoi that I don't feel like was a fetish kind of thing!
I liked this one but it felt simple. The two main characters, Fukami and Miya are co-workers and good friends. Fukami finds out that Miya is in an abusive relationship with someone that looks suspiciously like him and basically makes him stay at his place to get him away from his boyfriend. My main issue is that I didn’t feel like Fukami liked Miya until the very end. I could totally see Miya’s point of view where he thought Fukami was just being nice to him because that’s his personality or he pitied him. I would have liked more conversation around their feelings verbally and not just in their heads. I did really like their relationship dynamic and they worked well together as a couple - Fukami as the direct one with a strong sense of justice and Miya as the lonely, compromising one but looks like he has his life together.
I know i've been reading a lot of mangas these past few weeks and most of them are 5 stars but well...THEY ARE GOOD! GREAT! SWEET AND AMAZING! and most of them were recs from my dear friend who knows me too well and knows the types of story i like! She never got it wrong! This one wasnt a rec from her but I found it while reading one of the ones she recd.
Love stories like this. Love how much time they spent together as friends. love how when Fukami realized he didn't want Miyamori to leave and be with someone else he just confessed. I really liked this one.

Generally, I found this very mid. The art is okay and the romance is a bit overdone. My real gripes are with some of the tropes and how this manga refuses to actually deal with anything it brings up.
This is the third work by Sakumoto-sensei that I've read, and I think it has become my favorite.
The character Fukami is like a forest, yes, because he's so "green" that I thought he was more than just a green flag, haha. But one question that always comes to my mind while reading manga with plots similar to this one is, would a straight individual really easily become gay? I don't think so, but well, this is fiction, and if it happened in real life, it would surely be depicted in a more complex way.
I like stories where characters actually confront their feelings and communicate with each other. They always feel calm and reasonable, while still being sweet and loving. side-note: apparently this is my first time reading this manga, but this exact story line isn't new to me, so I had a sense of deja vu the whole time.
