As an animal lover, I really loved reading about this vet's connection and treatment findings for animals. Wish I had known how to massage my Boston Terrier, who was in a great deal of discomfort because of her back and legs the last year of her life. His use of acupuncture I will assuredly use on my current dog when needed.

Cases and animal stories provide examples and make the book read more like a novel than medical tome. Schoen divides the book into four sections, initiation, bonding, healing, and teaching. There is an appendix containing resources, readings, and references.

I think that this is full of informative and inspirational stories. There are some great charts and how-tos for helping us help our fellow creatures to be more comfortable. Allen Schoen is not a speciesist. This will help me take better care of my family of all types.
