We have all see Kickstarter and similar product reward crowd funding platforms spout up. The next step is direct crowd investment in companies - crowdfunding for equity or debt.

The allure of fast equity raising without the high costs, delays and hassles of investment banking gatekeepers is powerful. But how to do it? What are the best platforms? What are the disastrous mistakes to avoid?

This book answers all that and more.

I like that it is written by a former investment banker who has become and

Even though my plan is to take venture debt and only give away equity in the IPO (i.e. bypassing the VC round system), I can appreciate this idea of equity crowdfunding. I have a venture capitalist interested in my business, but he wants too much equity and I just don't want to give away that much. I'm much more interested in just getting to IPO and using *that* as my fundraising. I feel like equity crowdfunding has drawbacks in the sense that it can cost a lot of equity, like 15-20%. Listened to the audiobook, and the information was incredible. There are no more excuses to have a high probability of funding for your company. I really appreciate all the details that went into writing this book, because now I am more aware of what to look for in a properly run platform for Angel investing.

One of very few books that takes you through a hands-on description of completing a crowdfunding capital raise. We need more quality books like this that discuss the topic at a ground level using specific case studies

Very informative and interesting. I suspect crowdfunding will become far more pervasive in startup to finance in the years to come.

As a brand development author and unconventional entrepreneur, I am deeply concerned with the advancements that change the way companies get off the ground and operate in the world. In the same way that Kickstarter and Indiegogo opened giant doors for bootrstrapped entrepreneurs to get the funding for their passion projects and innovations, equity crowdfunding stands to do the same for the next big ideas whose time has come. But you won't just find comprehensive social commentary on this unique ...more
