Alice Malone, branded the best thief in all of Bell City, is about to
have her world turned upside-down. When a heist goes wrong,
she will be forced to befriend her enemies and must re-consider
the values that she holds dear.

This was one of those ‘take it or leave it’ reads for me. I did love the concept as a whole, with the devil’s blood lending people unique and at times terrifying super-abilities.

Malone’s character was particularly fascinating and although I didn’t relate well to her, I did admi

Fast-paced original story. Good balance of romance without being overly done. I enjoyed the plot - I have a spot soft for strong female protagonists. Malone at times felt a little distant, but never so far that I got bored. For a little while, I found Malone unlikable, and it took a few chapters to get into, but once I reached about the one-third point, I couldn't stop reading. I got to see Malone's softer side and she became much more endearing. I'm really interested in where this series is goi ...more

A Good read

Book starts off a bit slow, but picks up as you get deeper into it. Characters have depth, but have room for growth. Gets hard to put down later on but some things aren't explained possibly to be done in the next book.

Just by taking in its simple cover, I didn't know what to expect when I began reading this book. After getting a few chapters in, I wound up enjoying it a lot! It's a fast-paced story, only slowing down when it absolutely needs to. There's also some great character development throughout, I even took to liking and rooting for certain characters by the end. I found Malone more relatable closer to the middle of the book.

The ending itself was left open and, naturally, was followed by a short paragr

Fast-paced. It was a quick read (three days for me) but I enjoyed! I thought it was going to be about vampires, not going to lie, but it wasn't. No vamps. I'm not disappointed, though. Malone started out to be a little dislikeble, but I fell in LOVE with her by the end. I like that she's a strong female. It sort of lets off at the end, but I turned the page and boom, ad for the sequel. Guess who's adding that one as soon as it comes out? Me.

Bad cover, great book. You should not judge this book by it's cover.
