The house party starts off like any other, but quickly becomes a surprisingly different one. What happens to Monica, to Beth, and to Casey makes 'Three Who Met' an absorbing and suspenseful novel. Mrs. Craig writes with discernment and skill, and with a sympathetic understanding of the emotional upheavals common to young people.
I love all her books, but this one is a little preachy. If you can ignore that, it's worth it. This is the prequel to Now That I'm 16. This one introduces Beth at 15 and the next book continues her story.
The story is told in turns with three very different girls (rich, poor and shy) who have been invited to a college weekend house party and the lessons about life they learn there.
