I read this book as a requirement for my english class and overall I was pretty impressed with it.

This story starts off a bit slow so we can get to know the characters. The characters to me seem pretty typical, nothing seemed to stand out that would make the characters unique. Seth and Anne were like the typical loving couple that had nothing wrong with their lives—minus the starting a family difficulty. I wish that the author had included some unique traits to some of the characters.

This is a fast, gripping read that combines classic tropes with contemporary sensibilities and some genuine scares.
