This book combines a number of elements that I haven’t encountered before, and for that reason, it was a refreshing and delightful read. The story is character-driven in the point of view of Caprice Livingstone, a proper young woman from good family living in the US northwest in 1910. She is witty, indeed, but she’s also clutzy, curious, sneaky, and adventurous.

Miss Livingstone doesn’t quite fit into her era because she is a woman with her own mind. It is the early 1900’s until Miss Livingstone peeks into the new bookshop and finds time-traveling stones that take her forward in time to meet the owner of the bookshop. Then she is taken back through time as she attempts to solve the mystery of the stones and find some good books on the side!

A new blend of history, great literature, and adventure, Miss Liv Adventures was a fun read. I especially liked how

I'm the author of this book, and I'm nearly done with book II. As part of completing book II, I reread book I. It was such fun to adventure along with Miss Livingstone again.

The Unwitting Journeys of the Witty Miss Livingstone by Kennedy J. Quinn is a quaint, unusual adventure. Whether our main character is strolling through town dreaming of her next foray into literature, or scurrying in her long skirts chasing a train; it takes a woman of strong wit and incredible curiosity to bring us so firmly along. She gives herself the job of collecting books for the worthy Mr. Worthington. It’s where she collects each book from that’s unexpected. The villain of the piece see ...more
