One Week to the Wedding is a good book and perfect for those who enjoy wedding themed novels. While it is considered a women's fiction novel there is a budding romance as well (although it is not the main focus of the entire story). With that, I did enjoy this novel although I have to admit that it wasn't my favorite. I think this my be due to the fact that I was unable to develop a deep connection with the heroine. Otherwise, this is a good n ...more

I adored the last Olivia Miles series I read, so picking up One Week To The Wedding was a no brainer.
This is the first in the Misty Point series, and more of a cross to women's fiction than romance - though there is still plenty of romance, I mean, there is a wedding in the title!
I adored Kate from the start. Through all her hurt, she is doing everything to give her best friend the most amazing wedding, even though it is killing her slowly on the i ...more

One Week to the Wedding is the first and exciting new novel from author Olivia Miles. This book is fun and light and has just the right amount of drama. I enjoyed Kate from the moment I met her. I thought she was an amazing friend and loved that she helped plan her bff’s wedding despite having her own personal reservations when it comes to tying the knot. Be a wedding planner is no easy feat when it comes to her jilted heart, but if anyone can do it, it’s Kate….Charlotte ...more
Wedding planner extraordinaire Kate Daniels is planning her best friend’s wedding and nothing can go wrong. Not like it went wrong when she was planning her own wedding when she was jilted by her fiancé weeks before the ceremony when he admitted he was cheating on her…with her sister! So Kate has some redeeming to do. She needs to show herself and everyone else that she is ok, back on the saddle, ready to rock and roll. And so that sets the stage for this lovely little story ...more
While I was reading One Week to the Wedding all I could think of was how would I have reacted if I was in Kate’s unfortunate shoes. And I’m certain it wouldn’t be with the relative grace and strength that she showed. There is a bitter sweetness to this story that I would consider more Women’s Fiction than Romance. As a wedding planner it’s Kate’s job to make certain that the bride’s wedding goes off without a hitch – or at least solve those hitches before the bride l ...more
Most of the story is told from Kate Daniels point of view but you also get a bit from her sister Charlotte’s and like they say there’s always 2 sides to every story.

Olivia Miles takes a slight departure from her small town romances in her new book One Week to the Wedding. Though the small town elements are still well in evidence, this novel falls more into the women’s fiction category as we see Kate put her life back together after the ultimate betrayal, all while making sure her best friend has the wedding of her dreams. I really enjoyed Kate’s story. Miles aptly demonstrates that thing are not always what they seem and sometimes the best thing you can do ...more
I very much enjoy reading books by Olivia Miles and this one did not disappoint. Kate is a wedding planner that had a very bad experience with her own wedding that never happened. She is planning her best friends wedding, which seems to bring up many memories that she would rather be forgetting. She has decided to move on from that and try to make her friends wedding the best that it can be by doing everything in her p ...more

Book 2 is due out before long so hopefully some of that hurried resolution will be revisited.
A happily for now story for a wedding planner and a business man. The story is mostly told in the heroine's point of view. It's about the ups and downs of family which can be a bit sad. The hero, Alec, made the book for me. He's a strong character who is also smart. Its mostly a five star book, but the heroine at the end seemed to fly off the handle.
Olivia Miles has a true talent for bringing her characters to life and drawing the reader in and actually care about the outcomes of the situations that occurred within the story. One Week to the Wedding is a truly wonderful story about giving love a second chance, following your dre ...more
