This bilingual book represents in twelve chapters, one hundred and nineteen photographs of old Dhaka and its suburbs. The pictures include individual and group photographs of leading personalities of the period, attractive buildings, palaces, gardens, bridges, clubs and recreational centers, transport, and miscellaneous other items. All the pictures excepting four are of the period before the First World War, and with few exceptions, all the originals are in the collection of the Bangladesh National Museum.

Such a fine initiative. It gives you a visual of Dhaka (Dacca back then) under the British rule. I hope the publisher (national museum) will publish more books like this.

কেমন ছিলো সেকালের ঢাকা? ছবির মাধ্যমে বেশ ভালো একটা ধারণাই পাওয়ায় যাবে সেসময়টার ।
ঢাকায় ক্যামেরা প্রথম জনপ্রিয় হয় নওয়াবদের হাত ধরে৷ তাই সে সময়ের আলোকচিত্রে মূলত নওয়াবদের তৈরি বিভিন্ন স্থাপত্যই স্থান পেয়েছে বেশি৷
বেশ ভালো একটা সংগ্রহই বলা যায় বইটাকে৷
