This book is aimed for older women, mentors, and disciplers but I still loved it and learned so much from Nancy! I will definitely go back and read it again!

Women long for kindred spirits. Many of us have kindred spirits in our own age group, safe places to pour out our hearts to. But in the moments where we turn to our peers and say "I have no idea what to do," we long for someone older. More experienced. A Titus 2 friend.

Titus 2 friendships have dropped out of date and out of style, and women everywhere are suffering. There is no greater joy than a friendship that spans generations and experience. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, in her newest book, Adorne

Titus 221st Century King James Version (KJ21)

2 But speak thou the things which befit sound doctrine:

3 the older women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things,

4 that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

Adorned by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth is both convicting and encouraging at the same time. She unpacks each portion of Titus 2: 1-5, 10 in such a clear and approachable manner that you are drawn into the book instantly. With each portion of verses that she discussed, she walks you through them in their context of when Paul was writing to Titus and then she goes on to give a modern day application for both the “older woman” and “younger woman.” I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn a bi ...more

This book is setup for a women's Bible study. I especially liked chapter 8 on having self-control and a sound mind. The chart was very helpful.
A book about Christian living.

A complete and through Bible Book Study of Titus 2:3-5. Very well researched by the gifted author. Biblical based study that takes readers 14 weeks plus the epilogue at the finish. Each chapter reflecting a word or phrase from the verses . All about how older Christian women should come along side of a younger Christian women with encouragement and in teaching them sound doctrine, in kindness and with a sincere heart.
I have always wondered what these verses in the Bible written by Paul the apos

Wow, I couldn't stop listening! I listened to the audio book but quickly bought the hard copy to re-read. I really appreciate this author and all the books I've read from her. She never fails to deliver the truth (especially the hard to hear truths) in such a direct but gracious way. This book was perfect to read at the start of the year to give such encouragement to grow in Christ-likeness as a Titus 2 woman and to hopefully encourage other women to do the same! Such an applicable book for wome ...more

Lately, I've become more aware of the importance of other women in my life. Regardless of age, we all have things to teach, encourage, and support one another in, their can be a strength and beauty in these female friendships and mentorships. As a result, I was intrigued to read Adorned by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. Unfortunately, sometimes, no matter how excited you are about a book, the actual text falls short of expectations.

In the book, Wolgemuth takes readers step by step through Titus 2 as it

LADIES, READ THIS BOOK. Read it slowly. Read it prayerfully. Read it throughly. Refreshing, encouraging, and convicting all in one. Nancy does a beautiful job of exhorting women to live lives worthy of the gospel. It really is a “MUST READ.”

What a beautiful book about Titus 2.
I have read different works about this particular scripture and Nancy's book seems to be a beautiful complement to the rest.
In very practical steps and many relatable stories, she leads her readers through the passage and explores how it can be lived out in day-to-day-life. Nancy tackles issues like marriage, motherhood, purity, slander, dependences, work at home/outside the home, kindness, etc.
There is an emphasis on older women reaching out and helping you

Committing to this book was a difficult task because its a very long read. I admire Nancy and find her an amazing teacher, but I will admit, I had a hard time with this book. As a study of Titus 2, I appreciated how she carefully broke down the sections into chapters and practical ways to apply them. I do believe it was repetitive and had a lot of extra that wasn't needed in there.

This book has a study that goes along with it that I think will be useful to women who are actively studying Titus

This book is wonderful, powerful, and lovely. I've got so many sticky notes stuck in the pages that I want to go back and review! Nancy treats truth with gentleness and grace but doesn't mince words or sugar coat. There were so many truths I needed to read for my life. Every woman needs to read this book!

Very good! Went through this book with my ladies mentoring group, with discussions every week or so. It was the perfect book for that, although I wouldn't have read it on my own--I'm glad I read it. I learned a lot. It was well-written and engaging.

This was a fabulous book! It's all about the Biblical topic of the older women teaching the younger women. I recommend reading it with a group of ladies - some older, some younger, and some in the middle. It makes for great discussion!

This book was extremely repetitive. It opens with Nancy's getting prettied up for her wedding and wanting to be adored and adorned. Speaks on how women love beautiful things and creating beauty and being praised for their beauty. She transitions to women being adorned by Christ and reflecting him. The point of the book is to be a "Titus 2 woman." She ends Ch1 encouraging women to mentor other women and seek mentors as well.

Ch 2 "Don't settle for wimpy theology" said Pastor John Piper. Ch2 is ab

A "must-read" by DeMoss! I have recently read two of her books, "Choosing Gratitude" and "Lies Women Believe". I LOVED the former and liked the latter.
In "Adorned", DeMoss delves into Titus 2 and into the need and value of mentoring in the church. I found it scriptually sound and very timely. I also felt she handled topics, such as women working and abuse in marriage with more grace and discretion then she did in "Lies Women Believe". I had some qualms about how she handled those issues before

There are some helpful and convicting things in this book - I'm looking at you, self-control chapter!

However, I have three main problems with this book.

1. This book is one of those books that are written to women in a way that assumes all women are flowery and like hair and makeup and desire to be southern belles. There's nothing inherently wicked in any of those things, but sometimes it makes it seem like this is THE way to be a Christian woman and not A way. So, if you aren't like the women s

A Captivating Look at Biblical Womanhood

The back cover says it well, “Woman to woman, older and younger, side by side, life on life. This is God’s good and beautiful plan.”

Adorned is a clarion call to genuine biblical womanhood as described in Titus 2:3-5. Nancy’s warm and winsome words will captivate hearts as she helps women see the exquisite plan God has for His daughters. Theologically sound, but never dry, this book has rejuvenated my heart for Titus 2 lifestyle and ministry. True to her cu

So many times we ask God about His will for our lives. Or we seek the Lord about having some type of ministry. He does have a plan and a ministry for us as women. It is found in Titus 2:1-5, 10 which is the passage that Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, founder of Revive Our Hearts, expounds upon in her book “Adorned: Living Out the Beauty of the Gospel Together.” God’s plan for us has no age limits. It is for the older woman and the younger. Every stage of life has a plan and a ministry.

As believers of Christ, our holy God and loving Father adorns us through His grace, love and truth. But how do we adorn the beauty of Gospel amid our busy and stressful lives? This is what this book is about - an insightful expository study on Titus 2 - on how God has given us a community of like minded believers of Christ for support and guidance; how older women ought to teach younger women since our Christian faith is akin to a relay, passing the baton of wisdom from one generation to another ...more

Excellent book...tremendously convicting and encouraging discussion on Titus 2:1-5, 10 for us women as we strive to live out the beauty of the Gospel together

Just scratching the surface with these snippets to whet your appetite...

p. 47 "When God's Word is learned and lived out by older and younger women together, the outcome will be stunningly beautiful. Utterly captivating. A mirror reflection of Christ."

p. 80 "Bottom line: God is able to use everything about us--our victories and our defeats.

Overall, this book was well written and biblically sound. For what the book covers, it is good.

However, I went into reading this book with our church book club expecting something different. I had hoped we would find more practical ways of connecting women in the church over multiple generations as we learned what it meant to be a Titus 2 woman.

While there were some tips around this idea, ultimately, the book centers around the Titus 2 passage and what each woman should do in each season of her

This book is my favorite that I have read of Nancy's so far. Woman-to-woman, life-on-life; we all need relationships like this in order to grow as women who love and display Jesus. The humble, gracious way in which she challenges women - both young and old alike - is so refreshing. She has studied the passage in which she is writing on (Titus 2), writing on it in a knowledgeable, truthful way. The Holy Spirit used this book to convict and challenge me on so many areas that I fall short in being ...more

Where do I begin with this awesome book? Who knew that you could get so much information from this little tiny passage in Titus 2? I loved every chapter of this book. It spoke to younger and older women about their need for mentoring. I personally think this is greatly overlooked in our churches today...people want to sneak in the back door as the service starts and leave during the ending prayer and have no relationship with those around them in the congregation. If that's you, please read this ...more

The message of this book seems to be a theme in my life this year. Making time to encourage others and be encouraged, engaging them in their spiritual walks, and counselling those who are in need. I appreciated that she starts the book with doctrine and points out that women should know their own doctrine and be prepared to live by it and defend it. Some other sections were a little repetitive and felt like her other books. At times, her "spiritual life" seems a little unrealistic which makes he ...more

This book is powerful. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth clearly presents Titus 2 piece by piece in digestible chunks. Explanations are given and backed by scripture and examples to help the reader better understand and be able to apply what they are learning. The application questions at the end of each chapter are divided for older and younger women and help the reader process the information they have just learned based on what stage of life they're in. Wolgemuth has an easy to understand writing style ...more
