For 85+% of this book I was in love, the last 15% or so, knocked the book down for me.
Faith got pregnant when she was 20. Dropped out of school, got 2 jobs so she could raise the best 'mistake' ever, her daughter, Joey. When she has a sex toy party for seniors, a request from one of her other job's clients [cleaning houses], this leads to fortuitous events.
Sylvia, the woman, hires her to clean her house, then when she learns Faith's friend want her to interview for a job she isn't qualified for she tells her to do it what could it hurt. Unknown to Faith the company is owned by Sylvia's grandson, Gabe.
Gabriel is a hard ass boss, a perfectionist, married to his job and his company. His one real relationship end because of it and in a bad way. When he meets Faith he is drawn to her for reasons he doesnt want to admit. When the top 2 interviewees withdraw there name, he is given a hint "by god?" to hire her and give her a chance. He will be pleasantly surprised there.
Working together and being so close bring his walls down brick by brick. When his past comes back it ruins everything.
THIS is where this book took a huge step down. Something major will happen to a huge secondary character to help to two get back together but it is treated so blase' that it took a lot away for me. I mean the person is close and loved by both Gabe and Faith and this occurrence to the character is like nothing really happened other then a little internal dialogue. Then when a secret is revealed soon after there was minimal reaction to the 'betrayal'.
It was a good read but i think 2 more chapters and this could easily be an all time fave. Faith is amazing and Gabe even with his walls and attitude was great and Joey is a little scene stealer, loved her.
