Adolf Hitler
The most notorious man in history, Adolf Hitler, is best known for having perpetrated crimes against humanity over the six-year course of World War II. His brutal extermination policies are responsible for the deaths of close to 30 million people he considered inferior, and added to that, the military casualties suffered by all parties, yields a grand total o

I recently came across a series of factual books by Hourly History on Amazon that are either very cheap or completely free. The books are reasonably short, perhaps an hour and cover the lives of famous people or events in history that you may wish to know more of. Always open to a bargain I decided to order 6 books of famous historical figures who had a major influence on the lives of many. I intend to read these books in an effort to learn more without getting completely submerged with facts an ...more

nice book.. it is worthy for readers within short pages and wanted to know how Hitler was...

He has made people aware their strengths though he choose another path but that was indeed... as war and situations came just in front of him..
he was goof orator, many people got influenced by means of his speech... such a powerful leader ..

all my doubts about Hitler got evaporated after reading this book..

he said before world war II

Is it possible to detail the life story of a person the author calls “…the most notorious person in the history of the world,” and squeeze all that information into a book that the average reader can finish in about an hour? Hourly History proves that it can be accomplished.
This short book touches on all the major points of Adolf Hitler’s life, beginning with his youth in Austria and his days as a young man in Vienna. There is adequate time spent on his meteoric rise through the political ranks,

A nice biographical account of one of the most horrific persons in history. A short summary of his childhood, his school years and his gradual involvement in politics.

It is not an exhaustive resource but rather the foundation you need to lay down before you further explore the rise of this man to power and his downfall.

A great attempt.

A quick and crisp read about the origins and rise of th most despicable character in our history. perhaps no one is credited with more ruination of physical and moral nature than him.

How did the Führer become so?

"More than anything else, Hitler proved that monsters do exist, but sadly, they aren’t as obvious as how they are depicted in horror movies. They have very human faces, and often have lived all too human lives, sometimes marked by conflict and pain, but as was the case with Hitler’s relationship with his mother and his sisters, not always devoid of love. Humanity may not always be able to predict who among us will become a monster or why, but after witnessing the atr

Great Book

I liked the the author gave a clear picture of what and how Hitler's life was, in the end of the book the explanation that the guy was no hero he was the reason behind death of almost 10 million people but the book did give real insight over the reason of world war 2

This book meets it's objective which was to describe Hitler's life in one hour in a fairly comprehensive manner
I thought this e-book Adolf Hitler: A Life From Beginning to End gave a pretty good description of Hitler from his birth through the early part of World War II. The book covered his complete life and death but World War II was not covered in as great of detail. The book seems to indicate that his anti-Semitism did not start prior to the end of world war one. Just wonder how this man was

"By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise", Adolf Hitler. It sums up the approach adopted by the Fuhrer to carry out his dastardly mission. This splendid offering from Hourly History brings out the persona of Adolf Hitler quite succinctly. Adolf Hitler's approach so characteristically stated in the quote from George Orwell, " Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in o ...more

I don’t know much about the history of world war 2 as most of my generation don’t know.. but it is a start.. I can’t judge hitler because I really don’t know about the past and i was not there..but i just can’t believe people saying that he was a monster..before judging someone we have to conduct our own research..this is just a story of one part of the world what about the atrocities done by Britain in India..but hitler got too much attention because of his I will not judge him ...more

"For evil to flourish it only requires good men to do nothing."

A good read for someone who is looking to study briefly the life of Adolf Hitler.
Hitler is no doubt the "greatest" dictator to have ever lived.
Like the wand-maker Ollivander says in Harry Potter, "After all, You know who did great things. Terrible, but great."

The author has made a laudable effort to highlight the important events in the history of world war 2 concerning the Third Reich.

However, what I found lacking, is details on the

This is a short, fairly concise biography of Adolf Hitler. At 52 or so pages, it is not a definitive biography, but for someone like myself who knows very little about Hitler's life, it was interesting. From mundane beginnings to one of the most evil persons to have EVER lived, Hitler's early life was pretty unremarkable for its time. Driven by the crushing defeat of German in World War I, he pandered to the forces of life in Germany during the 1920's to emerge victorious in 1933. From there, he ...more

Must read

Awesome book. Of all the biographies I was wondering if I should choose this at all to read. Just by reading about great people who lived on this planet we don't become better. We become better by reading about wrong people as well. That's what tells us what humanity needs to be careful about. This is a concise, rightly sized, well written book about how an individual can cause an eternal damage to the mankind if not identified and eliminated by the right people on time. The guy has als

An interesting and more personal insight into one of history's most notorious dictators.

I didn't feel that I ever understood how he got into a position to do such horrible things to his own country as well as all of Europe and in particular the Jewish population. The loss to the world of 6 million Jews and their enormous intellect has undoubtedly still having repercussions. I will never understand how such hatred can be a part of mankind which it clearly is and we must always be aware of. This i

A brilliant "one hour read" style bio of Hitler.
It's a fascinating book due to it not just covering ONE aspect of his life, background, policies or war beliefs but it explores (in quite a lot of detail) considering its length his family, his childhood, his personal relationships, how he developed his ideas and brutal ideologies, his personal and academic life, his war years and subsequent death and a brief description of life after the war and a summary of his atrocities committed in the name of

amazing, neat work for a 55 pages book honestly!

So this was a short read history of Hitler - free from Amazon (normally $2.99 - terribly overpriced) - which for the time it took to read could have been ok but it really fell short and somewhat missed things - so if you knew nothing you might want to read it but it is a bandaid - maybe reading Hitler on Wikipedia might be better I did not check it out.
But a history work with no author credit.
took a few days to read reading while commuting on subway mostly

A True Monster

The best thing about these "hourly histories" is; they wet one's appetite for more information and create a curiosity about the subject. In the case of Hitler, I have always wondered what circumstances would allow such a monster to come to power. This little book does not fully answer the question, but gives insight and whets one's appetite for more knowledge of the subject.

An interesting book, I think it is very hard to cram everything into copy only supposed to last an hour (and to be honest I think it could have been expanded without losing that "Hourly History" take as it certainly didn't take me an hour to read), so it seemed like one minute he was starting WW2 and the next he was dead....but a good freebie for anyone interested in this era.

Tragic Tale

This was a well written brief account of the life of Adolf Hitler. I'm disheartened to learn that such a horrible monster had a fairly normal childhood. I had wrongly believed that monsters are created by mistreatment, abuse or horrific trauma; however, Hitler appears to have been loved and cared for. What drives a person to such heinous acts?

Very basic but very informative

Basic book, but very informative and interesting. Learned a few things that I did not know about Hitler. Perfect book for those of you like me who have an interest in Adolf Hitler but don't want to get confused by the unnecessary jargon.
This book sets all important parts aside.

An Excellent Read!!!

Why read about Adolf Hitler? My reason other than an abiding interest in history is that Hitler proves that monsters do exist, but sadly, they aren’t as obvious as how they are depicted in horror movies. It is important to know where and when the next Hitler like leader is appearing!

This book was an excellent read. The author uses a fact based, neutral tone to tell Hitler's story. The neutral approach permits the reader to learn the facts about Hitler's early days, rise to po
