What a great read for Halloween Day! 🍁🎃🍁👻

This book has several short stories but they all are connected in one way or another.

The Dry Season
Harvest Moon
Hathburn Ave
Bone Harvest
Harvest Gods, Revisited
Night Eyes
Blood Tide
Shades Of Grey
The Walker Place

I loved them all but my two favorites are: Bone Harvest & Harvest Gods, Revisited. Super creepy!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it's also on Kindle Unlimited at this time.

Also, I didn't realize until the end of the book and I s

Many thanks to Jim Moore for this lovely toast of nostalgia, where the crispy crackle of dead leaves mingle with the electricity of fear, paranoia, and all things spooky. A triple-entendre homage to the holiday, his New England home, and the heritage of Poe, Lovecraft, and a bit of Hawthorne, Jim Moore serves up a mixed bag of spooky short stories that celebrate the bizarre, the macabre, and yes, the warm and fuzzy feelings of fall. Many life lessons are wrapped up and bundled in costume and dis ...more
THIS IS HALLOWEEN, a collection of ten stories by James A. Moore is the perfect addition to help get you into the "halloween spirit". I have to admit that I had read each of these stories in other places previously, but it was nice to have them all together, in one volume. My particular favorites were the stories that dealt with the Bedlam Woods (DARK HARVEST), and of the "characters" from there. For those new to James A. Moore's work, there is a lot to appreciate in here, and no prior knowledge ...more

Recommends it for: everyone
Deliciously creepy, downright scary and practically perfect in every way. James Moore assembled his Halloween short stories in one volume.

If I had to say something negative about the book, it would be that it ran out of words and I had to stop reading. MORE, Mr. Moore, please!

Excellent bunch of short story creepies, all dealing with Halloween. Several answered questions I didn't really know I had about characters in James A Moore's novels. Was a bit disappointed there wasn't any Jonathan Crowley or Rufo in any, but Albert Miles was there along with Overtree Lake and the witch and her sons.

If you are looking for some Halloween reading, you can't go wrong with James A. Moore's "This is Halloween." It's a fun collection of short stories, some interrelated, with a healthy focus on everyone's favorite orange and black holiday. Don't miss it!

James A. Moore serves up ten chilling tales dripping with Halloween atmosphere. Monsters, ghosts, malevolent haunted houses, deep dark woods. They are all here - waiting for you. The scent of candle-singed jack-o-lanterns will stay with you long after you close the cover!

In the main I really enjoyed these tales, and they are perfect for the season.
I was unsure after reading the first story - which seemed badly edited (character name changes not corrected all the way through the story, and it was unclear at one point which character events happened to), and I found this annoying.
However, although this happens again in a couple more, it is less, and I just enjoyed the spooky nature of the tales being told.
One or two tales link up in a vague way (characters linked

Modern horror at its best

Captivating and haunting, at times deliciously grisly, this is a superb and masterfully written collection of stories that capture the spirit of the season. Reawakening seasonal childhood terrors James's stories wrap you tight in their loving claws.
Bravo Mr Moore.
