Rather odd. Sort of a post-apocalyptic version of an icelandic saga. If you're familiar with the sagas, the parallels here will be obvious. More interesting than truly enveloping. I'd like to read it again someday: I had this one years ago as a rather poor audiobook and I seem to remember being distracted during the entire experience of listening.
