A Voracious Reader (a.k.a. Carol)
*Book source ~ Kindle Lending Library

Mallory is a baby vamp. Not an actual baby because ewww. She’s only been a vamp for about a month or so and she’s adjusting fairly well to her new vamphood. She even has a new business as a life coach to even newer vamps than herself. So when her first client wakes up beside a dead guy, Mallory and her motley crew get to work figuring out why someone would set up Gladys for a murder rap.

I have to tell you, if you’re looking for a light-hearted read that has h

While sitting through her newbie orientation for the Society, Mallory receives a panicked call from her afterlife coaching client, Gladys. Seems Gladys found a dead body in her bedroom, and worse than that, when Mallory and Alex go there to find out what is going on, the dead body turns out to be the Society's chief security officer. If they report this, Gladys is sure to be convicted of murder, so they decide to hide the crime for now and investigate further. This is the second book in the Vega ...more

I am really enjoying this series. The whitty banter and the quirky main character make this a real page turner. While the story is over all hopeful and light, the ending has a great edge of your seat climax. I can't wait to read the third book to find out what happens next.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

"The Client's Conundrum: A Paranormal Cozy Mystery" (Vegan Vamp Mysteries Book 2) by Cate Lawley pretty much starts where the last novel left off. Mallory Andrews is a not the typical vampire. Besides being turned without consent, she lacks certain characteristics that most vampires seem to possess. Her fangs are tiny, the sight of blood makes her want to puke, and she's always hungry. Mallory is making the most of her new enhancements and attempting to help others adjust too. But when her first ...more

Okay so she isn't a normal vampire and her sleuthing isn't great but her heart is all into the task.

Wonderful! Hunger is her ever present companion as blood does nothing for her but make her sick. A death has her reaching for her sleuthing skills. Okay it's more a case of the blind leading the blind but her heart is all into the task. How was the murder carried out and by whom? Her character just gets better and better with even more anomalies being thrown up as too why she isn't a normal vampir

Love this series

This writer just catches you from the first page. It is funny but also revolves around a good, well thought out mystery with surprises galore. Can't wait to read the next. From baby vamp that is nothing like a vampire and may be part witch. She can not drink all
Blood but loves veggie juice, to witches and succubus. I see where romance might be starting between Mallory and Alex. She is also learning to use a magical sword and inherits a rather large dog. Wembley and Bradley help w

Baby Vamp is Evolving

Mallory the Vegan Vamp is a new vampire but she is different from all other vampires. She doesn't like blood and gets stick from the smell, sight, or idea of it. I like her smartass character and her relationship with her friends and Tangwystl her magic living sword. Yes, she can talk with the sword and call it to her hand when she needs it. This witch like power is also an anomaly. Is she a vamp or something more? She finds that solving the murder mystery and protecting her

I ended up reading the entire series as it is available. I find this book extremely satisfactory and it is a surprise that this author went under my radar for so long and that I had at least a very first book in the series for a very long time and didn't pick it up to read it. All I can say is shame on me. This is book 2 and it is on par with book one I have read all of the books so I will go through and rate them all..nothing hard to read no embarrassing scenes just plain fun. If you can imagin ...more

Mallory is an enigma

Mallory seems to be developing different powers ad she goes along. She is a completely different type of vampire. With the help of Alex and Bradley, Mallory sets out to find the killer who framed Gladys and finds out more about herself in the process. Bring on more.

Very Enjoyable

This book was a fast-paced, extremely enjoyable read. Mallory and Alex are back on the scene with a new case to solve. If they fail, Gladys' ( Mallory's client) life will be forfeit. Can Alex and Mallory figure out who the murderer is? And why is a policeman suddenly interested in Mallory?? You'll have to read it to find out!

More laughs and a good mystery

This was my second book but my first purchase within the series and it did not disappoint. More good chuckles and some work to follow the clues and guess ahead but really good.

Lovin' me some Vegan Vamp

Yep, this series has got it. A vampire that isn't, a wizard or two, a murder mystery or two, other vampires that are, great characters all and a good plot. It's quirky even in a quirky genre and that is the ticket for me.

A great mystery

This book was good!! It can be read as a stand alone but I recommend you read the first one. I like that Mallory is adjusting to her vegan vamp lifestyle and solving mysteries.

I live this decidedly different take on paranormal beings. Witty, alluring and charming all bound together.. A delightful read.. Now on to book 3!

Another funny win. Gladys' is such a clam quircky riot. This is humorous and still lots of mystery without being super intense. A total "cozy" win.

Let's be honest... We've all had a Client like Glady's Right? The Client's Conundrum is book two of Cate Lawley's Vegan Vampire Series bringing you gut wrenching laughs from start to finish. As usual, Mallory is right smack in the middle of a murder investigation-- only this time it has to do with her Client and the CEO of the Society! Oh-No! She continues to work along side mysterious and hunky Alex who seems to be warming up to her a bit-- but not too much! As they discover that she may just b ...more

Mallory and Alex have a new mystery to solve. I do like the comment by Gladys that they are like a married couple but not the type headed for a divorce. Gladys on the other hand is a new vamp and divorced from her husband. Her phobia about men is getting better but her life has taken a turn for the worst. Waking up to finding a dead man in bed is not conducive for having a good day. Mallory gets a call during the orientation for newbies and a picture of a dead golem. The dead golem happens to be ...more

Mallory, Alex and Wembley together again!! And now Bradley, in all his awkwardness, is helping too! What a great combination of characters to solve mysteries. I was laughing at Mallory's client, Gladys, the entire time. And there is a small hint of Mallory's mom and Wembley perhaps becoming something more, very interesting. Like everyone I am hoping for Alex and Mallory to get together but I am happy to learn more about Alex before that happens. Hopefully Cate will give us more on him book 3.

The Clients Conundrum:A Paranormal Cozy Mystery

I really enjoyed this book, it was fun trying to find out who really did the killing and with what. She had a really good idea but she was not sure that the person did the deed and how and why it was done. This is the second book in the series and I am ollking forward to the next.

I love this series. Mallory and Alex are my favorite 'not quite a couple'.
There's humor, mystery, a magical sword, vamps and murder...
It's fast paced and funny with likable characters and a good story and a very enjoyable read.
I received an arc for an honest review.

Cate Lawley writes humorous, fast-paced mysteries with a paranormal twist. She also writes romance filled with warmth and laughter.

When Cate’s not tapping away at her keyboard or in deep contemplation of her next fanciful writing project, she's sweeping up hairy dust bunnies and watching British mysteries. Cate lives with her pack of pointers and hounds (who sometimes appear in her stories) in Boi
