If you read yesterday’s interview with Linda Yiannakis, you have already realised that Erasable is an intriguing novel for children.

The protagonist, nine-year-old Ellie, discovers something in her grandmother’s attic that promises to solve all her problems. But like the genie who grants three wishes, one never knows where magic will lead. Ellie has little understanding of the karmic results of her decisions. What begins as little improvements cascades into major life changes, not all positive.

This is such an amazing book I would give more than 5 stars

What a joy to read 'Erasable' by Linda Yiannakis! Reading the blurb and what was written about the book, I was very curious about how the author could make the lesson clear: how you have to be careful what you wish for. And even more, how the book will/can show how every single thing that happens in life, has an influence on the rest of your life, and those around you.

Erasable is a perfect story for a young reader. It has the lesson that not everything you wish for should come true. Sometimes we don't realize that we are all an integral part of each other...Ellie learned this the hard way when she used a magic pen and paper to erase certain people from her life. Her life went from ordinary -- two loving parents, an annoying younger brother, going to summer school, and the school bully -- to lonely and not so ordinary when the people in her life were erased.

For those who enjoyed the works of authors such as C.S. Lewis, Madeline L’Engle, and J.K. Rowling, Linda Yiannakis’s Erasable is a page-turning delight for readers who crave fantasy, adventure, and a sprinkle of magic. Join young Ellie as she discovers a mystical object of great power that could solve all the problems of a third grader and learns that dealing with life’s hardships aren’t as simple as making them disappear. Wonderfully written, witty and thought-provoking, Erasable will keep both ...more

Thank you to @kidlitexchange for a review copy of this book-all opinions are my own. Ever wish you could just erase the worst parts of you life? That's exactly what nine-year-old Ellie has the chance to do in this middle grade fantasy, Erasable. Ellie soon finds out that erasing your troubles can cause even more problems-bigger than the ones she started with in the first place. Author Linda Yiannakis takes readers on a journey that will have middle grade students discovering that you never truly ...more
