Grace Lamb is definitely an interesting heroine. She also has her share of character flaws: she’s impulsive, quick to start things but slow to finish, always seems to be in trouble, needs rescuing…at least that’s how Grace believes others see her. She’s returned to her home town broke, jobless, and divorced. She, of course, prefers to think of it as another new start. The problem is, most everybody in town is determined to ‘help’ her when Grace wants nothing more than to take care of things hers ...more

A serviceable romance. These predictable plots came in very handy during 3am feedings.

I kept walking past this book in the library and wondering why it wasn't on my Read shelf when I felt as if I had read it before. So I finally decided to quit walking past it and just read it.
Turns out I did read it, I just never added it to my bookshelf.
Anyway, it's a story about a fun-loving girl who decides to leave her husband when he makes a career move to Chicago. She returns to her hometown and literally runs into her brother's best friend, currently the town sheriff.

This book is more like a 3 1/2 than a 3.

This was a cute story about Grace who seemed to whirl through life, often not thinking things all the way through before acting on her impulses. Her husband got a job transfer to Chicago and she realized that she did not really love him and asked for a divorce. Then went back to her hometown in Pennsylvania where she inspired others to be brave in their lives and then fell in love with her brother's best friend.

Grace was a fun character to read about. She

Who could ask for anything more? My time is limited so I prefer to spend it with characters I like. All the characters in Hot Date were people I enjoyed spending time with, even the bad guys! A very satisfying read. Thank you, Amy!

At first I didn't care for Grace, the main character in the book. For some reason I didn't like her personality. However, as I read more and got deeper into the book, Grace's character grew on me. ...more

I've always been a reader. I've also been a movie theater ticket taker, a nanny, a camp counselor, and a romance editor. Now I'm a mom and a writer who still spends most of my free time reading (when I'm not watching too much TV).

After starting off in romance with books like Hot Date and Pictures of Us, I'm writing in the genre I've always loved most, young adult fiction. (My very first completed
