USA Today bestselling author Angela Roquet is a delightfully macabre weirdo. She lives in Missouri with her irresistible BFF husband, their sweet, clever son, and a majestic marshmallow of a Great Pyrenees in a house stuffed with books, toys, skulls, owls, and glitter-speckled craft supplies.
Angela is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, as well as the Four Horsemen of the Bookocalypse, her epic book critique group, where she’s known as Death. When not swearing at the keyboard, she enjoys playing with her family and reading books that raise eyebrows.
GRAVEYARD SHIFT, the first novel in Angela's Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc. series, and BLOOD VICE, book one in the Blood Vice series, are now available for FREE on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, iBooks, & Google.
Last in the original series and what an ending it was. Poor Lana just couldn’t get a break and now had to save eternity from itself and Grimm. Lana thought she would be back to soul harvesting and blissful cohabitation with Bub, but nope, there’s plan brewing and Lana is right in the path. On a quest to solve the mystery of Saul’s death, Lana discovers all is never as it seems. This was a good last book in the series. The council was the worst!!
I think I read this book in record time; or very close to it! I will grieve a little while, for this is the last book of the series and it's been such an adventure - I didn't want it to end! Reading this was like joining an old friend in the last battle of middle earth - or in this case Limbo city. Lana Harvey is by now a very well established character and although this book is much more about her than the other characters you don't feel as though the story is lacking in any way. I like the descriptions in this book and felt like I was right there along side Lana for the ride and fight for survival. So glad I stumbled across this series. : )
A great finish to a great series. I just love reading about Lana, the reapers, the Angels and the Demons. I also loved the quotes at the start of each new chapter. This was great writing with really lovely characters that I will miss. I would recommend this series to all fantasy lovers, definitely a must read.
The series is over and I have no more bub. I am Left bereft. I didn’t realize going into it it was only 7 books. But there is so much happening I imagined spin offs and such. But it did have a full circle except I would have loved to see more with Gabriel and such but alas bub I shall miss thee
I am sad for this series to end though I thought the author wrapped things up nicely. I will definitely be reading more books by Angela Roquet. I would like to see a little more character development and maybe a little more expansion of bedroom scenes but other than that looking forward to future series.
If you made it this far you know Lana Harvey is the stuff of awesome.
One of my favourite series and set of characters to date, i immensely enjoyed each and every book in the series.
Lana has grown as a character from book #1 to book #7 yet she still is and will forever remain the reluctant hero (though she isn't sure she ever was one to begin with) - sassy, full of humour and ample yet healthy doses of sarcasm - who will do the right thing and help out despite danger to her own life (or soul matter) while learning from her mistakes and remain relate-able through out.
I'm sad to she her go but at the same time i am extremely happy i stumbled upon and got the chance to read her adventures.
If you haven't read the series yet i strongly suggest you do so. If you have then *picks a bottle of Ambrosia Ale and puts it in the air in a toast motion*To Lana! Our fearless leader, mentor and friend!
This Is My Favorite Lana Harvey, Reapers, Inc. Book!
Which means a lot, as I have so enjoyed the entire Series! I was a Polio kid. I had malformed bones in my feet, and finally there was surgery to fix my ankles & feet. It was right after my first surgery that I met Angela Disney's Lana and cast. Listening again and again to each book as it came along kept my mind off the pain of surgery, recovery and Physical Therapy. It did the same for surgery on my other leg. I'm so grateful to Angela for giving me the gifts of perseverance and joy! Next up is surgery in April, 2018. Lana is going to be with me all the way! Thanks, Angela! 💖💟
I'm glad these are over, because I don't think I could have read any more. The main character is so whiny and self pitying, that anytime something bad happens to her I cringe because it's one more thing she will whine incessantly about. The ending was good, wrapped things up nicely, but overall, not worth it in my opinion.
I really enjoyed this whole series, and this was a good way to end up. After seven books I was still invested and not bored by it. This series was definitely different, but very interesting, and I'm glad I discovered the world of Lana Harvey and her adventures.
I really loved this series. It was fun and light but this last book felt rushed and kind of sloppy. Definitely worth reading because the characters deserve an ending, but this was not a good testament of how lovely the series was.
Hellfire and Brimstone by Angela Roquet is the 7th and final book in the Lana Harvey Reapers Inc. series. First of all, if you aren't familiar with the series, I highly recommend that you begin with Graveyard Shift. It is the first book in this series and it's free. Everywhere. All the time.
This series follows Lana Harvey, a reaper, and chronicles her (after) life in the well, afterlife. The world building and character development is great from Book 1. But by this installment (Book 7), the author is really nailing it.
One thing I love about this series is the relationships between the characters. Lane is at the center of a web of "chosen" family, and there are plenty of opportunities for them to prove their love and loyalty, as a war/rebellion/revolution unfolds in the series. My favorite relationships are between Lana and a western-movie-lovin' Gabriel and her romantic love with Bub, aka The Prince of Darkness.
I don't like reviews that give spoilers, so I won't do that to you here. But I will say that this book (and this series) gets an A++ for character and world building, as well as sexiness.
If you're looking for a quick, enjoyable fantasy read with a dose of sexy, this one is for you.
Another 5 Star rating! The continuation of Lana, The Greatest Soul Reaper ever! I've read each book in this series and the next always outshines the one before. So descriptive, so action packed, so full of everyday life so spellbounding. I cannot express how much I have enjoyed reading each and every book. It gives one the time to ponder, what if. What if there were a whole bunch of Heavens and Hells and we got transported to the one we believed in acording to whatever faith we practiced here during our life on Earth. Interesting concept. I would recommend these books in this series to all opened minded, thrill seaking individuals of fantastic fiction! You will not be disappointed or become bored in your readings. Hats off to the inspirational, creative thinking Angela Roquet. Your writings have given me much pleasure and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next. I really feel these books should be made into a series on HBO like the Game of Thrones! The scenery would be out of this world!
The finale of the Reapers Inc series and I enjoyed it. Things took a turn I didn't expect and although it wasn't spectacular, it was certainly a satisfying end.
- A detail of Lana's past that has bugged me since the first book is resolved and that makes me so happy.
- A convoluted but enjoyable ending to the series. I think there are some short stories available but the main story is completed.
- I like Lana in this book so muh more than the previous ones. Her character development in this book is great.
Seven and a half books in less than a month and I've now finally finished the entire series! If you enjoy mythological fantasy crossed with a romcom, this series won't disappoint.
I enjoyed this series of books. I believe I originally found the author and the 1st book in the series on an email that I receive but I am not positive. The protagonist in the story is Lana Harvey who is a Reaper -- beings in a celestial world that work for Grim (aka The Grim Reaper) and help him harvest souls. Evidently as humanity's population exploded so too did the amount of souls that needed to be gathered and Grim couldn't do it by himself. ANYWAY Lana occasionally butts head with Grim and lands in hot water.
I found these books clever and funny and I would recommend them to any sci-fi fan.
I got this book as part of the "Found in Limbo" collection which covers the last 4 books in the series. This review has been repeated for the individual books so that whichever route a reader takes, the review can be seen.
Following the tapering off of the war Lana Harvey's work has become more mundane and she is reduced to general soul harvesting. However, she sees the ghosts of two people that she thought were long gone. This leads her on a quest to find the truth about details in her past. In doing this she gets some shocking revelations.
This is a great read and at the end there are pointers to other spin-off books which I also look forward to reading at some point in the future.
I am so glad I stumble upon this Series it was a lot of fun to read. I would recommend to anybody read it in order since it is an ongoing storyline. I really enjoyed this book, especially since it was a twist on the paranormal genre I had not read before. I liked the characters and I was sad that this part of the Series has come to an end. However there will be a spin off and I am ready to continue Lana's journey. Since I pretty much devoured all the books so far I am re-reading the whole series again before I move on. Entertaining read with colorful and fun characters sprinkled with a little romance. Angela Roquet has a new fan in me for sure.
Final book of the series before the spin off. I enjoyed this book, Lana manages to save the people closest to her and the rest get put to make changes that are long overdue. The journey to this point is fraught with danger, but she does her best, mostly by herself, with a few helping hands from friends. It's a satisfactory ending that does the series credit and carries the theme through nicely. Grim is the main adversary, although he only appears a few times and the final battle is won because everyone helps her to do it. I kept think Bub had to be on the side on the evil, but he never was and in a way that was almost disappointing. Still she gets her happy ending.
I am glad that Lana kicked Grimm's assets to say the least I was more afraid that more people would die and was almost petrified when my two loveable Hell hounds bit the boot literally. I am not even sure what to say about Malik and the that discovery in that part.
All if fair in love and war and those people that were snooty patooty to Lana can go take a kite and I am glad they had to eat crow.
Proud of Kevin for holding his own and finally being appreciative of Lana and what she did foe them even though she suffer more back stabbing callous behavior by most.
I found myself devouring the book as usual. It was like greeting an old friend, listening to Lana again. From the beginning if the book though it was like she was saying farewell. It was bittersweet. The author did a fantastic job of tying up all the storylines in the end.
I will miss Lana, the reapers, angels, and demons though. Mostly I will miss Lana, she is such an amazing character. I would love to continue her story for years to come and see how her world continues to unfold.
Lana Harvey has been one of my all time favorite literary heroes. I’m going to miss her adventures in Eternity and beyond. At least I still have the collection of short stories to enjoy. This book is a brilliant finale to Lana’s saga. It has all of the elements I’ve come to love about the series, combined with heartwarming surprises. I love Ms Roquet’s style and can’t wait to start the Blood Vice series. I have the first couple of books in that series but have been waiting to begin reading them - now is the time.
Spectacular ending to this series! Honestly couldn't put it down and I finished it in record time. I have enjoyed this author's style and especially her main character for the reaper series, Lana Harvey. I'm a little sad there are no more but only the best books give me that feeling, so in a way that's a good thing. Highly recommend this entire series and I will be checking out other books/ series by this author (who btw sounds super cool and like someone I would enjoy being friends with. Love how her mind works).
Sad that the series is over. But Roquet did end it well. I will really miss reading about Lana, Gabriel, and the rest. I just love the writing style, things flow so well and the story moves along at a good pace. The characters are excellent and well developed. You can't help but love them ... and hate a few too.
A marvelously crafted piece of work! Ms Roquet is now the mistress the serial novel, IMHO. All strings untangled and tied to their appropriate end. Well done, madame, well done. Thank you for the headlong rollercoaster ride!
Has Lana come to the end of the road? Is Eternity going to be destroyed? Find out in this final chapter. Brilliant read but also ended when it should. It didn't drag on and on with endless stories which would have lessened the impact. A job well done. Highly recommended.
From beginning to end this series stole all my attention and kept me interested until the very end. I enjoyed the stories and I was pleased that nothing was left out. I've passed this series on to friends and family and they enjoyed it too.
Lana is on a self discovery after seeing a presumed dead reaper stealing one of her catches. Could that mean Saul is alive? Nobody has heard from Grimm that can't be good. This book will keep you on your toes
Solid conclusion wraps up all the loose-ends with a great final battle between Lana and Grim. The final 'philosophizing' scene actually undercut the stories momentum, leaving me rolling my eyes. But Bub survived and kept the girl--so that totally worked.
The last third of this book had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put the book down. While I knew Lana would survive, who else would and how would this series end?!?
I am happy the Lana comes back, but if she didn't this would have been a great ending.
"Maybe heroes are sometimes clumsy and unwilling...." That is Lana in a nutshell and I am sad that her tale has ended. A fantastic finale to a wonderful series.
