A suggestive, if necessarily open-ended, inquiry into just what, without leaps of faith, can be deduced beyond mere generalities about the religion of a particular British people.

One of Yeates's centerpiece deductions in the book, namely that the vessel the Dobunni Mater bears is a circular valley north-east of Gloucester, seems to me more on the order of inspiration than scholarship, but I can accept it in the spirit with which it is offered, namely without any attempt to mislead the reader as

This book read more like an archaeological survey of place names and people names that were connected to old time deities then it was about examining an actual so called tribe of witches. The book was a bit over the top on a scholarly read and was as interesting as reading a textbook for college. To be sure the book was loaded with details, so loaded in fact that one tended to gloss over the details and just glide over the book.
