It stated the obvious, but I suppose most of these books do. Rule 1: Be creative. Rule 2: There is no rule 2. Rule 3: Same as rule 2. The most enlightening bit was the use of the word “lookist” to describe the fact that a lot of publishers decide what is sellable on the basis of the appearance of the author. So that’s where I am going wrong!

I thought this book was very useful, I can't really write so I don't think I'm ever going to be a author but I am interested in publishing and marketing. It was good to see what the author is being told to do and how authors feel about publishers/people in charge of marketing their books.

Very very useful book for anyone who is interested in publishing. I checked this book out from the library and end up buying a copy. Enough said.
