After a devastating heartbreak three years ago, genealogist and historical village owner Nora Bradford decided that burying her nose in her work and her books is far safer than romance in the here and now.

Unlike Nora, former Navy SEAL John Lawson is a modern-day man, usually 100 percent focused on the present. However, when John, an adoptee, is diagnosed with an inherited

True to You is oh-so-good! It totally made me cry... and that's a good thing. By the end of the book I felt so much compassion for John and his struggle to accept and overcome some pretty tough things. As a mother who adopted her children, I completely related to the theme of adoption and was fascinated by Nora and John's search for his biological parents. The contrasts between Nora and John were stark, but their differences complemented each other and the chemistry between them was awesome. I l ...more
True to You is definitely in my top two favorites of Becky Wade’s novels. In fairness, I haven’t read all of them yet, but so far, Nora is the character that I’ve connected to the most. It didn’t take much more than the first chapter before I found myself loving her quirkiness. There were so many things I found endearing about her – the fact that she is a librarian, her bookish-ness, her love for British television shows and her love of genealogy. I was expecting Nora’s story to be sweet, but I ...more

I took a couple of days to try to gather my thoughts on this book, so that I could maybe do a little more than blather and gush. But, nope. Pretty sure this review is going to pretty much be blathering and gushing.

Those who follow my reviews know that fantasy is my favorite genre. I can get behind a good romance now and again, but romance novels very rarely make it onto my favorites shelf. Especially Christian romances, as they tend to lean towards cheesiness and, though

Classic, unassuming & focused, Nora Bradford is the middle sister. Since her childhood, she has felt that she didn't have the beauty or the creativity of her older and younger sisters. She's created her own niche, and is quite content in her existence. Or so it appears.

American hero, John Lawson is quite the opposite from those Nora would consider 'her' people. She is a local genealogist who runs the local historical village. He is an ex-Navy SEAL, who has received the prestigious Medal of Hono

I discovered Becky Wade had free novella available—Then Came You—the prequel to her new series. I downloaded it, and read it, and discovered my review copy of the first book in the series was already sitting on my Kindle. So I read that as well, and now I have to wait months for the next in the series. Yes, True to You was good. Excellent. The best romance I’ve read so far in 2017.

True to You is Nora’s story.

She’s a bookish librarian-researcher-genealogist who is a devotee of a certain British
I loved this light-hearted but deeply emotional story about a cautious and studious young woman and the modern-day Navy SEAL who sweeps into her life and turns it upside down.

After the heartbreak of her last relationship, Nora has barricaded herself behind a facade of dowdy clothing, old fashioned hairstyles, and her work as a genealogist and the owner of a historical village. Who better to break through this barricade than a Navy SEAL?! With his gruff gentleness and his forced need to dig into

This book is fantastic! The characters are spot on. I loved Nora. She is different but relatable. I enjoyed her bookish side. And her attitude about her own intellect. Her sisters and grandma are excellent side characters. The sister's dynamics are perfect. I can't wait to read book two in this series! The plot was so well thought out. I have read all Becky Wade's books and I have to say this is the best one yet! If you like Romantic Comedies, you will LOVE this book! There are some touching, de ...more
True to You was a delightful and fun contemporary. I've always enjoyed the 'person-searching-for-their-biological-mother/father/parents' storyline, and this one certainly did not disappoint.

After reading the prequel novella to the Bradford Sisters Romance series (Then Came You), I knew I would want to read the rest of the series. So when True to You came available through Bethany House, I grabbed it. I didn't get to read it right away, but when I did, I was immediately pulled into the story.

Wow! That's all I can say. I love everything Becky writes, but this one may very well be my absolute favorite to date! I absolutely adored every single moment of this book, and the minute I finished it I found myself wanting to start it all over again!
I loved John and Nora, reading their romance was such a joy. I also loved both of Nora's sisters and I cannot wait for both Willow and Britt's stories. Nikki, Valentina, and Grandma all had me laughing like crazy!

*Update to my previous review*
I love this book and just finished it for the second time, this time I listened to it on Audible. I had forgotten exactly how much I loved this story. The narration was good. I liked how the narrator voiced most of the characters, with the exception of Corbin (a side character in this story who becomes a major character in book two).

Wow! This contemporary romance was packed with emotion! The author did a truly wonderful job of making me feel what these characters we

This book was not exactly what I was expecting but I loved every bit of it. The characters are complex, the story is raw, and the writing is amazing. This new series is going to be a winner. *I received a NetGalley copy of this book*

Um, hi, I'd like to join the Becky Wade Fan Club, yes, pleaseandthankyou.

Could there BE a more Navy SEAL, dream-tough-guy-sounding-name than John Lawson?? Tell me this. Like, that alone should have been enough to make Nora fall in love with him. Add to the fact that the dude is genuinely this GREAT GUY? (view spoiler) I mean, big tough Navy SEAL dude even let her talk him into sitting down and EATING TEA AND (cinnamon) TOAST. And ho

Amazing. True to You was absolutely amazing. The opening scene was memorable and grabbed my attention and the book just continued to get better and better up until the phenomenal ending.

The characters were so endearing. John and his search for his birth mother tugged on my emotions and there were a couple scenes that really got to me. I loved Nora and her sisters, so I can hardly wait to read the books about them.

All in all, a moving story. I think it is Wade's best and my favorite. I definitel

This was an incredibly powerful book. Contemporary romance is not my favorite genre, but this captured my attention throughout for several reasons: wonderful characterization, a superb plot, and strong emotions. As a middle child, Nora Bradford felt like she didn't have the looks or talents of her older and younger sisters. So she immersed herself in learning, words, and genealogy particularly after the death of her parents when she was only a teen. I totally identified with her. Although not a ...more

True To You ( A Bradford Sisters Romance-Book #1 )
By: Becky Wade
True To You is book one in A Bradford Sisters Romance series. I really loved True To You and Becky Wade did a fantastic job on the story and the Characters , both were well developed. Wade had me hooked . I could not read fast enough to turn the pages faster to see what was going to happen next. I could not put it down , I was reading in the night to see how everything turned out. Wade did not disappointed. I caught myself laughing

Wade has opened this new series with a new style. There is something fresh and yet familiar with her writing, and it was that juxtaposition that I loved! From the first pages this book reads unlike any other Wade book, and yet her voice is evident. Wade remains a master at believable chemistry and pacing between her characters. Her heroes have her signature voice all over them, and that remains true in True to You. She also maintains the beauty of family in her book, only this time it's with thr ...more

True to You reminds me of every reason why I love Becky Wade’s novels so much. It’s funny, charming, romantic, sexy, and it hits me in all the feels. And that’s just John’s character. Kidding. Kidding. (Mostly.)

I’ll get back to John in a minute but “Great Scott” do I love Nora!! For starters, she is delightfully bookish and has a tendency to fall in love with fictional characters. She’s a librarian, a historian and a genealogist. She uses words like “indubitable” and “tout” on a regular basis. S
I have read all of Becky Wade's books and I have enjoyed them all immensely. True to You was a great read. I really liked the heroine Nora. She checks her goodread's updates, reads book reviews, has a tiny house that she calls her "bookish cottage," drinks tea like a professional, and makes cinnamon toast in her oven. She was just so fun to read. I felt like Wade was playing us bibliophiles, like puppets, as I soaked in all the bookish qualities that it held.

Great Scott! True to You is a wonderful start to Becky Wade's new Bradford Sisters Romance series, and I'm already anticipating the release of her next novel. Readers will fall in love with the witty and adorkable Nora Bradford, red-headed librarian extraordinaire! Not to mention John Lawson, former Navy SEAL and American hero. Wade's knack for creating memorable characters that leap from the pages is once again at work in this novel. With a twist I didn't see coming, Wade addressed some heavier ...more
I think I was expecting something a bit different, definitely something lighter. I did enjoy the parts where John and Nora are together, they have some moments filled with tension and great chemistry. I loved the idea of the story, I've recently started dipping my toes into genealogy and I love it. So I enjoyed that part of the story and thought it made for a fun plot device. I did find it a tad slow at times, and yet also felt there was maybe too much going on (with side characters/stories - bu ...more

Wow! I have been eagerly anticipating this book, but I did not see that coming! What an introduction to Becky Wade’s new series. It has a really fresh feel to it, and yet it is still indubitably Becky Wade. (When you read the book, you’ll see what I just did there!)

I’m not sure you could find two characters who are more different to the Porters and their wives than Nora Bradford and John Lawson. In Nora, Becky Wade has managed to capture all the endearing quirks you might expect from a genealogi

I had reservations while reading this book. Probably because I could sense that it isn't primarily a romance. Indeed, the romance really culminates around 75% in (which, for me, is where both know they are in love and that it's likely requited). If I were to assign a primary genre, I'd call this Contemporary Christian with a faithful focus. Faith, and the power of faith to heal, bring peace, and empower goodness, is a central focus for all the characters we get to know. I don't remember, now, if ...more

Becky Wade pens contemporary Christian romance books. I have loved every one of her stories. I learn along with her characters, in each book, to trust God more in a variety of areas of life and through various situations.

The cover of her newest novel, True to You – the first full-length novel in her Bradford Sister Romance Series – is beautiful. It sort of brings the past into the present with her family’s gorgeous historical ancestral home.

Hmm. What to say...

This was a cute read! I loved getting to know the Bradford sisters, and CANNOT wait to read Willow & Britt’s stories.

The dialogue was fun throughout the book, and I enjoyed Becky’s writing style.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the “instant love attraction” thingy going on in this story. I personally didn’t feel a crazy chemistry between Nora and John, but again that was my personal opinion.

It was fast paced and the pages flew by! I rated this a 4/5 star! If someone wants a light, cont

This book just kept surprising me the whole time. I didn’t expect half the things that happened to actually happen. Which is a good thing. I thought it was interesting going on John’s search for his birth mother. That was neat tonread about because I’ve never read a book about that. I have mixed feelings about John and Nora’s relationship. I though they “fell” in love way too fast, but I loved reading there cute little moments together. John was kind and caring. True To You was part light and whimsical romance and partly a story of serious adversity and hard-hitting secrets that force the characters to be honest with themselves and God as they search for answers and love.

Nora Bradford is a historian. A researcher. Someone who enjoys all things past. But her own past, particularly her romantic past, has left her slightly jaded, more than happy to remain safely single, and determined to rely on no one but herself for success. John Lawson knows what it's

"I love men who can fell dragons."

Former Navy SEAL John Lawson plays the play of a dragon slayer perfectly, at least Nora Bradford thinks so; after all, a chance meeting in a simulated rescue mission proved that. In her wildest imagination, Nora would never have paired a bookish genealogist, who owns an entire historical village with a man who is an highly acclaimed national hero. Impossible! So imagine Nora's surprise when she receives a follow-up call from John, indicating that he would like

True to You had its share of wittiness and cute romantic moments, but was also a heartfelt and moving story about characters who have to deal with tragic discoveries. I wasn't expecting that emotional punch when I first started reading the story, and I finished the book just feeling amazed by how good it was!

Nora and John just clicked, to put it in Nora’s words. They seemed like an unusual pairing for the first two seconds but then they seemed completely right together. I also liked Nora’s siste
