A Higher Power

Rate this book
In this tale of corporate skullduggery and mystical awakening, a multibillionaire decides to radically alter his course and seek a clearer path to happiness.

For New Yorker Nick Dalca wealth is a birthright, but his perfect life is starting to crumble around him. His private jet? Missing. Wife and son? Presumed dead. Having no one left to continue his family legacy, Nick makes a shocking decision: negotiating the future of his business conglomerate, a sale which may turn him into the richest man in the world.

Threats to his plan begin to emerge with the scent of corruption and extortion. All alone, he becomes closer to his longtime secretary, Anne. Apparently she can talk to dead people. While Nick's pragmatism is tested, he is stunned to find there is a higher power hidden within himself. In order to learn about the fate of his family Nick will talk to anyone from hell or heaven--whichever comes first.

Delving into the beyond is a touch and go endeavor. Does it exist? Or is this it? Are we free to choose? Is there a guide? Well just ride along with Daniel in 'A Higher Power ' and enjoy the suspense...You'll be glad you did!

Very interesting and help acknowledge more about reincarnation, and what's life is on the other side, and the purpose of our existing.

Known as the decoder of the spiritual world not a religion , It's a Philosophy a Science:::::::: I think is a gift to help others, but not everyone is the real one .Highly recommended !!!! I love the characters and their story ,and learn about Spiritual and Mediums.

Spellbinding

Great characters .the existence of another world is ani intriguing concept. Davidson makes the reader a believer. Should be a central theme in a follow-up continuing. In a sequel following Nicks life as he matures . What does he do with his life and what becomes of his son

An unusual, but spiritual thriller.

I read this in one sitting. It is unusual in content from most thrillers I have read. It is evident that evil as well as good exists on all economic levels.

I am joined to my everlasting spiritual being.

The spirit of man is the gift given to all
good men. Take nothing for granted!
Don't join the evil side of man kind for we are not
alone. The just will bring us to a better under standing of what we are to believe in.

A Higher Power

This book was very different from the type I normally read. It had a mellow smooth pace and allowed me to leave it and go to another book or to a game or puzzle without having to back a few pages to submerge me in the novel. Thank you.

Who is really in control?

The billionaire, villain, or a higher power.
Using spiritual beings to solve a mystery
keeps the reader's attention riveted. It opens the readers to possibilities.

This was a refreshing change from the usual mysteries being written where many die that don't need to die. The only thing I didn't like was the abruptness the Arthur brought the book to an end. Seemed like he decided the book was long enough and abruptly stopped. He could have added much more.

A Higher Power

A new twist on a thriller. Seemed a little slow at first as I am not into business and financial matters but I am glad I read it.

The power of greed, the cost of justice

An intriguing tale of the rich and ruthless, combining disloyalty with love and spiritual revelations. The characters, both protagonists and bad guys, were all just a tad too commonplace, predictable, not enough depth and complexities, at times with almost robotic reactions. Still, the glimpses into the top one percent power group, and fascinating international locations were adequate to keep this reader involved. Had I written the ending, it would have been less anti-climatic. Actually only a three-star novel, but I'm feeling generous for (mostly) decent editing.
Yes, I would recommend it as a mind break from serious subjects.

Interesting

Defies classification by genre. A mix of international intrigue, new age spirituality and Christian romantic suspense. I can't say it was excruciatingly suspenseful, nor was the pacing flawless, but it kept my attention and I enjoyed the story and the characters. The ending could have been more satisfactory...it's like the first two thirds of the book unfold slowly and the events leading to the conclusion and the end itself were hurriedly thrown together. To enjoy this pleasant book, I suggest that you suspend disbelief, don't apply logic, just go with the flow.

Alternative facts for a title .

I would have given this book a five instead of 4 if it'd been about God leading people instead of some kind of spiritual person in the midst of reincarnation . There is a good sense of mystery, and insight into the super wealthy , subterfuge , travel and light romance .

The storyline of this book was really good.

This is a very gripping read that will have you hooked from the moment you begin reading it until the end of the book.

It begins slowly, but it then starts to pick up after a while.

The only thing that let this book down for me was the amount of language that was in the book.

Other than that, this was a good book

Poorly written

Outlandish story, poorly written. Gaps in the story. Very stilted conversations. I finished it but it was due to my perseverance. Not because of story. Don't waste your time.

Riveting, informational and driven

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It held my interest even when financial lingo was part of the story. The author carried me through each new event with belief and steadfastness. Great book!

A truly inspirational read

With his wife and child dead, life becomes too much for a man who has so much of everything. He starts on a slow path of learning, accepting and friendship. Will it be enough to save him?

It became time to end the book, so the author did. Unbelievable how quickly he managed it. No thought at all.

Higher Power has low output.

I really wanted to like this book. However, it disappointed. The characters were flat. The plot was spotty and sometimes incoherent. For a thriller, there was never much thrill. When a book misses on plot and character, it is a book worth missing.

Read Ludlum's Bourne or Cussler's Pitt series if you want thrills and character.

Money, travel and love in one story.

Interesting characters, exotic locations, wrapped up in a story of wealth and extortion. Then a little love thrown in with spiritual phenomenon. This story starts a little slow, but comes together nicely to an interesting conclusion.
