This book was a helpful road map during our trip to Seattle. It offers helpful highlights when you are overwhelmed, and exhaustive details when you are ready for all the info. I appreciate the humor and sarcasm scattered throughout as well. We found a lot of great food places and sites through this book, but I also think we disagreed about some of the starred (the best/must try) attractions.
Mind the Book
(Ja, jag läser reselitt som romaner, från pärm till pärm.)

Svårt att inte tänka på Frasier när man tittar på omslaget. En fantastisk guidebok som får Seattle att framstå som Schlaraffenland. :)

LP has never been my favorite resource for our trips, but I usually read it in conjunction with other publications. I enjoy reading different points of views.

Seattle is one of my very favorite cities and Lonely Planet has not done it justice. They give poor advice on where to stay- cheap dumps and noisy hostels where bedbugs WILL bite and you stay with poor weirdos and they don't even name places and give addresses, just direct you to the welcome centers. Their restaurant suggestions give no info on menus. They are delighted druggies can get marijuana. They glorify neighborhoods I wouldn't be caught dead in. Ah.If you want to read a good travel guide ...more

A lot of content but I find some of the formatting inconsistent and confusing. I wish there were more unique photos as it seemed the same places/things were pictured multiple times. Overall though very helpful, and location ratings appear to line up with other guidebooks for the area.

OUR STORY
A beat-up old car, a few dollars in the pocket and a sense of adventure. In 1972 that’s all Tony and Maureen Wheeler needed for the trip of a lifetime – across Europe and Asia overland to Australia. It took several months, and at the end – broke but inspired – they sat at their kitchen table writing and stapling together their first travel guide, Across Asia on the Cheap. Within a week
